Activating Powers briefly stalls game

My CoH runs fine (as do all my other games) but currently whenever I use a power the game freezes for the length of the animation and then continues as normal.

I can view other peoples fights without issue and moving about is no problem, it seems to be purely when I personally activate a power, even non graphic intensive ones like sprint.

Anyone else had this before?
