If you have other IO sets that grant sortlike defence, it is favourable to take that set up. If you have no other defence IO bonus, the odd 1-2% give little to no difference in terms of survival.
And for a blaster, taking things down before you go down, i would go for a faster nukeout. (asume you are elec/elec, popping a blue and straight after that Powersink gets you back full end in no time - from the odds that survive the nuke).

6 Obliterations is the usual way to go.
Or if you're not fussed about the defence bonus, 5 Obliterations (skipping the damage proc) + a Common Recharge IO in the Nuke, and ditto but with a Force Feedback End/Rech IO in Thunderstrike.
Alternatively, frankenslotting Multi Strikes/Cleaving Blows is a much cheaper option, and is a decent enough method of boosting your raw enhancement percentages (just as long as you don't care about set bonuses).
On a purely numbers outlook slotting these with 4 Sciricco's Dervish and 2 cleaving blows tops dmg and acc out at about 95.90% with a recharge of about 2mins80, on the other hand 6 slotting the dervish, gives me the AoE, fire, cold and psi defence bonuses.
What would people suggest? trade in the rec and acc for a little bit of defense or stick with 1% recovery and to pbaoes recycling that much quicker and with greater accuracy?
I have been avoiding IO-setting my toons since I came back, feel I really want to learn how to do it, effectively.
