MA text files

As I understood, they're fair game as far as manual editing and creation are concerned?

While I can't remember seeing an official statement about this, I don't see why they wouldn't be. The MA basically is only a fancy GUI for editing them.

(As it happens, I just now had one of my first stories open in Notepad, thinking that I wouldn't have to go ingame if I wanted to do proof-reading and corrections)

Fixed that for you there. Someone one knows something

As I see it the MA files come under the same as demos. Since they exists as text files on your PC. Knock yourself out, I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong. Right up to the point where they hit the game and the upload to published it doesn't matter what content they have. The second you publish them they come under the same rules as everything else, see EULA for details.

correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the suggestion is for outside editing of Missions ( i.e @ work, on my laptop :P ) and I seem to recall there was mention of the possibility of an official tool for this in one of the Pre I14 interviews.

Yup - manually edit away - though if you make a mistake the MA editor ingame will just flag the file as red and not allow you to do a thing with it!
