When teaming gone bad

Agreed Dante,

and for Khaine, sorry if I seemed to pigeon hole you into any category as it wasn't my intention and its understandable that its not easy to know what someone might be trying to imply.

He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.

When I am in a bad PuG I am part of it. Part of the problem. Partly to blame for something. What I don't know but sometimes people just do not dynamically gel or gel through personality clashes. There is not a them and me "really". If I am in a bad team I may want out but have to accept that I am part of what makes up that bad team.

[/ QUOTE ]

In that case, the correct course of action is to quit the team, since if you are part of the problem, if you leave the team should get better.

I really should do something about this signature.

Well Duh! That's what people do when they don't like the team they're in, or not happy with the type of game they're playing. You don't need anyone to tell anyone that. You'd post for the sake of anything and whether or not the team gets better is neither here or there as sometimes they will, sometimes they won't and sometimes they may all end up quitting. But because you illogically say "should get better" rather than "could get better" which is a possibility due to many factors, would I be right in thinking that you must have something to say, based on something, Praf? If so spit it out because I don't remember seeing you in a team.

Is there a way to get people to learn a lesson (short of going crazy).

[/ QUOTE ]

People who do not learn from their mistakes are destined to repeat them.

If people are going to 'car crash' missions let them. Then let them come to you for the answers as to why you aren't dying. After all its their debt.

I'm trying to illustrate the fallacy of what you are saying.

What you appear to be saying is if the team is failing, it is because you are doing something wrong.

If that where true, the team would automatically improve if you left.

The truth, of course, is that it is quite possible for you to be doing everything right, but the team still be failing because of one or more other idiots. In which case, when you leave, the team will fair even worse. Which is usually what actually happens.

Taking all the reponsibility on yourself may be noble, but it is also stupid.

No fallacy, when there are many factors to what consummates a a good/bad team. Just because it's bad and you leave doesn't mean it'll get better. It could get worse. If the team sucks and you quit, they may just suck even more and quit after. Remove the tank/rad from a STF and what will happen with most teams? One person less usually means there is less flexibility in what teams are capable of.

Excactly.

Which would prove that this:

Is false.

If you quit a team, and it gets worse, that proves that you where part of the solution, not part of the problem.

No it proves I am part of the problem if I can't turn the team around through things like interest/desire/diplomacy/charisma/instruction by quitting.

I could quote it but for what I don't know because no one is taking all of the responsibility upon themselves.

I have to say that there is a tendency for people I dislike playing with to be with more people I dislike playing with. A supergroup of people could be worse in my opinion than some PuG I joined the other night. It may be that they favour certain sets in teams and their dynamics pretty much can't change to anything other than those sets or sets without certain powerpools.
