thunderbird problems

Not sure if this is in the right place

Recently thunderbird my email client is deleting mail in the trash can when it exits even though i have the retention policy set for 30 days..........

Very odd i have tried resetting a few times but cant see why it is doing it

Any help would be much appriciated

Go into your Account Settings, select Local Folders and check to see if the "Empty Deleted folder on Exit" checkbox is on.

If it is, then uncheck it.
