Recently my msn has been saying its signed into another pc. So I have changed it (just in case). If anyone wants it feel free to pm me.
Apparently the old one was sending a friend to a pw collector site, altho no one else had this problem, but I am more concerned with the 'signed in on a different pc, if anyone has my old one please delete and block. As i said if anyone wants my new one feel free.

my apologies for placing it here - i thought more people would see it here

I ran AVG last night, I do have spybot and adaware installed too
nothing as yet.

Personally, I think its this 'other' PC

so anyone with my old msn please block and delete.

Congratulations, someone else has gotten a hold of your account password. One would assume this is through whatever form of spyware your computer is invariably riddled with. They'll just use a bot to log into it and spam stuff to whoever is online.

There is no need to change the account entirely, you merely have to clean your computer, change the password, use a firewall and download avast. MSN and any email account linked to it is a remote access service based entirely around the security of a password (well, I think with MSN anyway, it uses email accounts as users and would have to make that remote check to know the password is right), it can't be 'infected' or permanently hijacked or some such thing, it's on someone elses server. Changing the password is all you need to do to lock them back out again, and make sure that the method using for obtaining your password is killed.

And don't ever have your MSN set to remember your password. Or anything else for that matter, it's just mental. The password then has to be stored somewhere that isn't the secure Hotmail server (for example) or your impenetrable brain. And if it's stored in any other place, it's potential to be accessed by scum is vastly higher.

Do you have Xbox Live? That signs me in whenever I boot up my xbox, meaning I have to sign in again on my PC.

Nope, the only other time I access msn is on my mobile.

it does appear tho that its coming from my old email address (one i cannot access) as it was tied to my ex's net account.

whilst i don't think she would do this...
