Frame Rate and Lag Issue Suggestions?

2 gig RAM should run CoX like a dream, but the 2mg broadband looks a little low to me. Maybe that's the problem?
the last thing i thought it would be was my broadband speed, outside of how its set up at my end... this will not do...
Looks like the specs of my old pc including the 2mg broadband connection. The old girl couldn't run COH in quality graphics mode without a major frame rate drop, so if you haven't done this already try going into Options>>> graphics...turn off advanced graphics and scale the slider to "recommended graphics"

It's not the Broadband speed I'm still running on 1meg and 2 Pcs at times on CoH/V. With no trouble.

Ive set it down to recommended with sever frame rate drops, even on minimum settings around atlas im getting 11.fps..

hmmm ok, check your firewall exeptions and see if the coh updater is in that list..if not add it.
BTW what antivirus/adware programs do you have running?
Is that graphics card a recent addition to your rig?
If so check to see if its installed properly, find the most recent drivers for the card.
Also check to see if that card needs to be hooked up to the internal power. ( i have actually put in a few cards and didn't make sure of this...resulting in really crappy performance heh )
Apparently, poor frame rates in CoX can sometimes be caused by the sound system. Try disabling sound completely and check your frame rate. If it pops back up to something reasonable then you've found the problem!
Apparently, another clue that sound is the problem is that changing graphics settings has little effect on frame rate.
I'm summarising other threads here rather than relating personal experience, so take this advice with a pinch of salt.
What screen res are you using and does this match your desktop setting? - your card won't hold up well to running at 1800x1440 but shouldn't have problems at 1280x800.
If you are using a flat screen are you running at the screens native resolution - there is a performance penalty if not - note this does not apply to CRTs.
If you look at a plain wall do you see a significant increase in frame rate? - if you don't its probably not graphics lag.
Do you see a significant difference between first person mode and third person mode (B key toggles between them by default)? This would indicate an issue probably relating to your costume/power auras.

Ive recently started playing COH again but the frame rate and lag is the game play,
It does improve when I turn the graphics settings down but ive put them on minimum and my frame rate is still plummeting below 11 fps!
My system is as follows
Microsoft XP service pack 2
Intel Pentium 4 cpu 3.60ghz\
2 gig of RAM
DirectX 9.0
NVIDIA Geforce 7600 GT
2mg broadband, wired connection.
I also keep a pretty clean system in terms of background running programs
I was wondering if my system should be still dropping that low and struggling that much on the equipment Ive got.
I am running through a router and wondered if that could be causing it? And if anyone had any posts or information found on how to open ports to help my game play!
