Base item placement to coordinates
It'd probably need an overlay grid dropped onto the floor in edit mode, so you could see what you were doing.
Or, you initially place by drag-and-drop, and then can edit the coordinates manually if required. That was how Neverwinter Nights used to work, and it was a fairly good system.
Disclaimer: The above may be humerous, or at least may be an attempt at humour. Try reading it that way.

both are good idea i guess we could have adv mode and noob mode...i think i stay with the noob mode which will be grid mode
What would be very handy is to be able to place items in a base to an x,y,z co-ordinate, instead of just drag and drop.
i.e. a little box that you can type the co-ordinates you want the center of the item to be at are.
The current method is clunky at best for lining things up, and floating magic wouldn't be required any more.
Searched forum for a previous suggestion of this, cannot spot one ( which does surprise me ) :S
