Calling all Axperts - is axe busted?
According to Redtomax's guide, each of these powers has a max hit of 5, and they are all sphere powers.
I'm not 100% sure either way. My Fire/Axe has been 50 for a while and gets very irregular run outs, so as far as I can remember I've never hit 5 foes with one hit on these powers, but I generally solo so mobs are smaller anyhow.
I think I'll do some research then come back to you.

Possibly relevant possibly not - it's shield/axe...just on the off chance that it's only broken with shields.
(And to whom it may concern - I'll take bughunter on my badge main...i'm sure you can find it. ty)
They should hit 5 targets maximum with Gauntlet. Providing that number of targets are not only within the area but the attack lands. That's how I have found it.
Just to add, any pbaoe that can damage 10 should gauntlet 10 and as a general rule the higher the endurance cost the greater the area of gauntlet.
Teamed with a tauntless tank it's generally safer to attack after whirling axe, cleave, pendulum but everything is dependent on positions.

I've played mace before and assumed it would behave kind of like the similar powers in that set. If i'm reading correctly it should.
If thats the case then it's well and truly broken (at least with shields)
How long ago did you play mace? What is specifically broke? A single target attack should now do damage to one target yet aggro those in the gauntlet area.

Sheesh. Now you're asking! I was just a lad...must have been the summer of '82. Everyone had grifters and choppers and if you pushed the mudguard onto the tyre you could make it sound like a motorbike.
I suspect your right. I expected max targets to mean max targets receiving damage. My bad. I retract all previous slurs on axe.
I still want bughunter regardless.
All tanker powers say they can hit up to five people, that's the Gauntlet effect. Most of the actual attacks are single target. With the axe, Whirling Axe, Pendulum and Cleave are the only attacks which are actually AOE attacks. Cleave has a tiny one that pretty much just goes a bit forward so you can catch some other victim now and then, Whirling Axe is 360 degree pain for all and Pendulum is a 90 degree cone.
Mace and Battle Axe are largely the same, Mace is slightly better with its cone attacks and Battle Axe is single target doom. Both sets have been evened up so one or the other is more a matter of preference without worrying about being gimped.

Trying out axe for the first time and i'd like to double check if its broken or not....
The detailed description on the enh screen for swoop, gash and beheader states that they can hit 5 targets max yet i haven't seen any of these powers hit more than 1 target. This is despite being well slotted acc wise and the target foe being surrounded by other foes.
Either axe is bugged or the description is wrong?
Anyone got an axe char that they can confirm or deny that this is the case?
