Hey everyone, this my first post on the forums. Unfortunetly my first post is a post that is seeking help, perhaps someone out there can help me.

Well my problem is...well, i don't know how to simplify it so ill tell you all i can.

Basically it is this: One minute i am sitting on my pc, having fun on CoH, No lag, no graphical problems, nothing and then the next minute my cursor and screen freeze then seconds later my screen goes black, If im listening to music, it continues for a further 20-30 seconds then starts looping. The tower is still running, lights on and i can hear the fans, but it never comes back. The only thing i can do is emergency shut down.

I shall list my spec incase it can help in anyway:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 (2.66GHz, 8MB)
Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit
4GB DDR2 (4 x 1GB)
1TB (2x 500GB)
768MB nVIDIA Geforce 8800 GTX

I had a look about forums before posting this, couldnt find anything, and i also sent a petition but that sorta went all...messy xD

Thanks for your time

In which case, I suggest having a good read of this thread.

It may not help much, because this fits into the classification of "known issue", but there might be something that can help you.

Oh, and welcome to the forums!

It seems he is still somewhat wise ; Bull Throttle: Shadowe was unwise in this instance...; Rock_Powerfist: in this instance Shadowe is wise.; Techbot_Alpha: Shadowe is very wise *nods*; Zortel: *Quotable line about Shadowe being wise goes here.*

Unfortunately ZhaoRen I have the same problem. I have posted in the thread shadowe linked but unfortunately none of the suggestions worked (thought they had for a while, then I got black screen again )
I have sent a ticket to support about it, they asked me to check the thread mentioned and said it was a known issue but had not got a fix as yet.
Things I have tried to solve the issue, maybe worth a try for you?
Tried single and dual screen monitors
Tried reducing the screen res in both single and dual screen monitors.
Tried the 175.16, 175.19, 177.69, 177.79 and the 177.83 drivers, all uninstalled and using driver cleaner to remove before a fresh install
Happens on both Vista 64 and XP home (and Vista 32 it seems)

Now was thinking the other day it does seem similar to one of the problems I first had with Vista, with it not booting and just going to blank screen from the boot menu. This was fixed in a Vista patch (can't remember which one), but it was originally thought to be to do with ram timings and voltages when you have all 4 ram slots full, I will try with only 3 gig running tomorrow night and let you know how it gets on.

Edit - I see FFM already suggested similar on the other thread, thought I had read it somewhere as well, must check threads more carefully after drinking

OK, removed one of my RAM sticks so only had 3 slots full, blank screen after 30 mins

Will have a play with the timings as well and check the Nvidia forums as FFM suggested, but not tonight cos I was hoping this would fix it and I just want to play now!
