Artic Fire

I have been a long time admirer of all the work people post up on these forums for a while now. Both the stories and the art work have all impressed me. From now on I am going to try to be more verbal about it too

I have been deliberating over if I should post this up or not as it is the best piece of art I have done for years. I have been in a brave mood the last few days so.... here is my contribution to the forum. My line art sucks so I took the proportions from a screen shot.

Artic Fire I did this for a CoX friend of mine.

I like it. I especially like the texture/style (?) (I’m not sure what the term is) used in the sky and the rings around the legs.

I’m not sure the shading (is that it?) on the face and the hair works though.

I think the term is air brushing. It's also what I used on most of the shading and highlighting too. It's really easy to build up the density of shading/colour with out losing any of the detail.

I think you are right about the face. It looks like someone's wiped dirt down him . I will go back top the drawing board with the technique for the hair and see if I can improve it . thanks for the pointers.
