Sapper:

An explosive devices powerset:

1. caltrops: as current power
2. Landmine : buries a mine that explodes when a non-allied mob travels over it. Multiple mines in close proximity can trigger a chain reaction effect. ( moderate lethal/smashing damage recharge: medium)
3. Proximity sensor: proximity sensor can be placed on walls, ceiling or floor with a medium detection range. Any motion within the sensor range causes an alert to appear on the owners screen. The owner can then , optionally, charge the sensor causing it to detonate (and possibly set off any nearby explosives) recharge: long , only 1 at any one time. 1st click sets, second click detonates, right click to disable and recharge for a reset.
4. Charge : allows the sapper to imbue his devices with additional destructive capacity of a type: Fire, Electrical, Force, negative, toxin etc. essentially the mine becomes a receptacle for the next power that targets it, which it absorbs and releases along with its own power on discharge (mine remembers what damage and what type went into it). (recharge: long)
5. Micro-mines: a small minefield in a bag! Spread out over an area these small explosive devices detonate when walked over or once their timer has elapsed. (type: lethal/smashing , chance disorient recharge: moderate)
6. gas grenade: lobs a grenade of Tear gas that does moderate Toxin DoT and has a chance to disorient any that enter its area of effect. (toxin moderate DoT, disorient foe , foe –end)
7. Smart bomb: a small mini missle that launches itself at a target. Once within range it explodes dropping a payload of small warheads filled with a concentrated napalm variant onto and around the target (high smashing/lethal , moderate fire DoT , recharge long, range: long)
8. Razor wire: a canister of experimental razor wire. Long cables made of monofilament wire controlled by nanotech bots. Once thrown the canister bursts open spreading the wire as far as possible. The wire will start to move toward any motion it detects (mobs in the AoE) and then start to wind around them, cutting and sawing as it goes. The wire contracts toward a central point at which time it becomes inert and can be gathered for re-use. (AoE , enemy Slow, high DoT lethal , moderate DoT: electrical, recharge long )
9. Fantastique plastique: Chargeable plastique charges that can be set on floor , walls or any surface. Water proof, fire retardant, cold proof. These are indeed the height of chemical engineering in the explosive arms race. This power takes two icons, a set icon, that can be used up to 6 times and a detonate icon that works from anywhere in the instance (range is not a factor). Once detonated the explosives begin to recharge. (AoE , damage extreme Lethal/smashing , high (fire), recharge: very long)

I like some of these ideas, especially a minefield (which i hope you could avoid if you had a higher +perception), and the Razor-Wire idea also sounds great - however I think they would be better of included in either devices or a VEAT devices powerset as they are conceptually unheroic (especially minefield) and lets face it - A Sapper powerset toon would be the most reviled entity since Stalkers appeared on the scene especially if there were -End sapping powers.

well, it could be a villain poweset.... ohh, how about a stalker powerset !!

tbh, I would like to put in more hold/immob powers but to me, explosive are all about damage.

I agree, as my Grandfather once told me in one of his munitions tutorials at his Allotment at the local recreation grounds;
