When in the transfer process it will list the servers available and the spaces on that server, so to transfer a character it has to go into a server with a number over 0 otherwise the transfer will fail.

Suppose I have 1 character on Union and 12 already on Defiant without any veteran or paid extra slot would that say I had free slots available or not - there are no previously paid for slots but there are available slots.

You get a name change free with the move if there is character with the same name already on the server you move to.... handy if you think ahead.

[/ QUOTE ]Look at your own question? You want to transfer a character from one server to another server. This doesn't mean that the slot will automatically be transferred too, only the character.
As of yet, there is no slot exchange feature in the game... it may get added in the future, but probably not. (I have no evidence to either back this up or not though)

The £11.98 stated above isn't correct, according to paragonwiki. This extra slot (if only 1 was purchased) would only cost $5.99 (£3.49).
..... so moving a character from one server onto another server (with a new slot) will cost you £9.48, and you'll have a free slot left on the original server to boot.
