Maneuvers: Why so essential?
Apologies for thread necromancy - I found SoA to be most devastating when you had 4 of them in a team, the other 4 made up of a good mix of other villains ATs. In particular I remember running a lot with teams roughly consisting of 1-2 fellow Crabs, A Widow or Bane, 1-2 MMs, a few Brutes, and 1-2 Corruptors and/or Dominators. Even if each SoA had only take 2 of the 3 Tactics we had a buff umbrella made of sheer win.
It was devastatingly effective.
Someone asked about vengeance.
I think the Pool Power vengeance gives a damage bonus of about 18 - 25% (cant remember exact figure) but I do know that Fortunata Vengeance gives 35%.
While it is impossible to stack two identical Vengeance buffs, I think it might be possible to stack pool power vengeance with fortunata vengeance - if used by different individuals off course. The Icons for both can both appear on ur hud, if you time the casting down to the milisecond. Otherwise, the second buff icon wont appear if the first is there.
I find that I dont really need Manuvers - Foresight is generally enough when used with indomitable will, Combat Training - Defensive, and Conceal Presence.
I find that I generally have a defense to most attacks of about 30-40%, and if teamed with other SoA, I am getting defense ratings of 70+. (Once was on a team with 6 Wolf Spiders, and another widow).
Even if my Defense isnt high enough, my Foresight makes me more resistant to damage the less my health gets. Meaning that it gives me more time to survive, kill mobs, or run away.
I've managed to survive battles with about 4 health remaining, reason being, my resistance to ALL went up to 70+%.
Dont underestimate ForeSight, it has saved my life sooo many times.

[/ QUOTE ]It's not, you just need to get the timing right.
Was just going by what city of data said.
It listed the power as being unstackable i think (last time I checked anyhow)
Either way, in short, vengeance from widow training is more potent.

Some people did the TP trick with it. They all queue the power on someone far away and then recall friend them close.
Edit: Really love that Avatar.

I wouldn't rely on being able to stack Vengeance for much longer. According to Castle:

I never did, but people did like it was the only way to get the job done on STFs and that, before looking at the reasons for needing defense ie I got hurt? What with? How can I not be hit with it? Which often comes down to not standing up a tanks butt or something due to location or timing.

I think a team of all-Soldiers/Widows could be fun - but lacks the metal-crunching, fast-pacedness of say a Stalker, a Corrupter, a Brute, a Domi and an MM plus to very useful skills of a Soldier and/or Widow. Of course, team them up with Heroes on co-ops and you're well away.

you obviously haven't seen a VEAT team in action then. We have a team with 6 crab spiders, its incredible how fast mobs die. It is by far the most ruthlessly efficient team I've been on villainside
