FF/Archery - anyone tried?

I just rolled an FF/Archery, because I've never tried FF and I tried archery once on a kin, but later changed to kin/elec, although I enjoyed the archery side there wasn't much synergy with kin. Also I've got TA on a troller, so I thought I'd try this combo.

Has anyone else tried it? My thought was it would be pretty offenderish, FF is fairly low maintenance (at least compared to kin), and Arch is low end, so I might be able to get away without needing stamina, and try a few other tricks from power pools.

As a FF defender i get stamina on lvl 28. My down side is psionic attacks like Psychic Scream, Psionic Lance and Mind Domination. They are end killers. With Archery i think you can live without stamina i guess, if you don't get Repulsion field. Dispersion Bubble don't drain much energy. After your bubbling sessions you can easily use your bow, which is mostly complained about archery is drawing bow animation, after your bubbles done you have enough time to use your bow and arrows without re-draw animations.

But keep in mind without stamina, you will need to rest after bubbling sessions in large groups.

Slotting end reducers is the answer to that.

I found that with a single DO end reducer in my bubbles I didn't need to rest before stamina. It did mean starting the combat with half a bar of endurance though.

Archery is a relatively cheap set, so if you want to avoid stamina putting end reducers in your attacks should help massively. Force Field is relatively cheap too so I think it could work. Also your inherent may help you too.

Thanks for the replies guys. I levelled Anarchy Girl up to 10 pdq last night, and she's great fun so far, the long bubble buff duration means very relaxed playstyle, which enables me to do a lot of chatting (This is in contrast to kinetics, the only other defender set I have good experience of, where the buffs wear out faster and on a team the whole style is much more frenetic.)

I think I'm going to go for this in order to explore things like the Medicine pool, which I've never tried before (already got into Leadership now, although that's already familiar ). Perhaps I'll also try Stealth (again, something I've never tried before).

Medicine is certainly worth getting. That little heal from Aid Other really helps lots when there isn't another defender with a more suitable primary for healing.

I only got it because I wanted Aid Self, but in fact Aid Other is one of my useful powers.

My main 50 is FF/Archery, went down a different road tho.
Kept mine more defendery, went light on the blasts and took leadership and medicine.
You'll almost definatly need stamina with all those bubbles and toggles, but as you said, it's a pretty low maintenance set so you can spend your time applying heals and blasts where their specifically needed and take the time to get a good overview of the battle.
Also using Rain of Arrows to gather aggro then turning on PFF is always good fun
I loved it, gave me a good understanding of how things work since you have the time in combat to notice what your teammates and the mob's are up to

Stealth is a good option for FF defenders i guess. Invisibility + PFF means really good defence and you can use Aid Self without afraid. Also if you get Grant Invisibility you can provide squishies more defence even to scrappers. If coupled with TP pool you will be the perfect one for ghosthing missions.

Don't forget one thing you are the weakest one in the team. Your biggest defence makes you unable to help friends, and sometimes you can't find the time to raise your PFF (due to activation animations of the attacks etc.).
