Numbers check on Thugs/Traps

So I was futzing with a thugs/traps MM build today. And I saw something interesting when slotting for def:

Enforcer maneuvers: 13.23 *2 = 26.46
Forcefield generator: 15.68
Maneuvers: 5.49

Total = 47.63, which breaks the soft defense cap for your minions.

Is this right? Seems a bit high to me.

EDIT: Heehee, and I just realized you can use Detonator + Vengeance to stack another 25 def on it, even unslotted.

Powers that require a defeated player will not work on pets or henchmen.

Yes, overstacked Defence is definately a strong point with Thugs/*. Most especially when with other Thugs.
