Word from the player
About half a year ago I had a moment in which I had to decide whether or not to continue playing City of Heroes.
I've met many great people during the year that I already played and several of them became good friends. But like many of you I had real life issues starting to mess up my play time. I had choices to make that I'd rather not make.
Eventually after working out most of the important issues, my life started to become bright again. But my motivation to play the game was still extremely low.
After talking to some friends and getting involved in some events within the game my interest slowly began to grow again. But I needed an extra boost to make me feel comfortable again like I used to be.
So I decided to bring new life into an old story. The story behind six extraordinary girls that had the most fantastic adventures. Six girls that for some unknown reason meant more to me then I thought. Six girls that outside the game had more adventures then they would've had in the game. The six girls that originally formed "the Galaxy Stars".
Their stories that were part in-game and part fictional writings kept me going for a very long time, but there was something that needed to happen to them in order to bring back the motivation I once had.
That something turned out to be the death of their leader called Star Jewel.
Her death would be the one thing that would bring about some new and fantastic ideas that I could write about and role play with in the game. Even though tragic, the ideas that spawned from this event were better then ever.
So, in a final story called "Last Man Standing" posted several months ago, I showed the world of City of Heroes and my friends that it was time for something new.
The original group broke up leaving the heroes lonely, vulnerable and devastated. Months went by and the girls changed their way of live as I did mine. When at some point they were brought back together to once more fight evil and corruption. Right about the same time my real life started to look good again. (talk about alter egos)
This story will be posted within the next two weeks and will explain how the girls get back together, how two new members will join the group, and how they will show the world that they're not gone...
Until that time is near I will introduce you...reader...friend...team mate...or perhaps silent fan, to the reformed super team called "the Galaxy Stars", Guardians of Freedom!
