"Mummy...Where am i going?" Ashlee clinged to her mother and looked up with watery eyes. Her mother looked back as tears ran down her cheeks, she muttered quietly "Your Grandparents are going to take care of you for a while, be good for me will you?" She gave Ashlee a little nudge as her Grandfather grabbed her hand and lead her into a Limo, both of her Grandparents used to be famous heroes in England but retired when Catz had her first daughter.
Ashlee's sisters stood and watched from the window of the house, both of them had their faces pressed up against the glass. Ashlee was sat on the seat inside the limo as the door slowly closed..leaving behind memorys which would never leave her mind , that was probably the last time she'd ever see her mother again.
Paragon City, May 4th 2003
Early morning in Paragon City. Students of Atlaschester high gathered in the courtyard of the massive school. Most students learning at Atlaschester were British students, whom' either lived in America or arrived as exchange students from Britain. This is time the school was about to experience a new kind of student.
A large black limo pulled up outside Atlaschester, a man wearing a black suit and glasses stepped out of the front door and slowly opened the back door. A young girl of about 16 stepped out, her hair was a long brown colour, she was quite a slim build and rather tall, like every other girl at the school she wore a white shirt with a blue and white pleated skirt with the added accessory of slim rimmed glasses...A pretty girl to be exact. All of the "jocks" in the courtyard began to drool, one girl who was stood on the stairs leading to the main building just stood and shook her head. She held her head up high and pushes all of the boys out the way, running up the stairs and adjusting her glasses as she stopped by the girl standing on the stairs.
"You must be Suzy right? I've been told your the one i need to speak to" She seemed to have a very broad English accent.
"I wasn't told you would attract that many boys as soon as you got here" Suzy laughed and shook her hand.
"Ah well just call me Ashlee burns...or Ash for short, Its truely a plesure to meet you" Ash smiled and followed Suzy inside. There was definitly a thing between those two, some connection, they could both feel it..
"Its been rumored that the new girl is one of those mutants"
"Like eew! I thought they didn't allow them in this school?"
"Frobisher has mentioned nothing of her since she got here, shes been, like, in the training room for hours every night"
As Ash walked down the corridor people watched her closely, soom even looking her up and then down to see if there was any sign that she was a mutant. Every night she would make her way to the training room and every morning at sunrise she would leave, there was always a trail of stone left in the training room. This is what got people so fired up about the mutant rumours.
That evening one student had found a way into the Training room without permission..Suzy. She sat on top of a piece of high apperatus waiting for Ash and her mentor to enter the room. It was sunset and Suzy was slowly falling asleep, the doors flung open and in strided Atlaschesters headmaster, Frobisher, A retired hero dedicated to helping the students of Atlaschester. Behind him was none other than Ash in her usual school uniform but wearing gloves which had wires connected to her arms.
"Ok i want you try this again for the 8th night running, in know its hard but you must learn what your father asked me to teach you" Frobisher clenched his fists and stood in a ready to fight pose.
"Are...Are you sure about this sir, i mean if i hurt your...I..I don't want something horrible to happen" Ash clenched her fist and closed her eyes, a red liquid was visibly running down her arms and through the wires connected the her gloves. Slowly a red glow began to gather around her fists.
"Now activate stone armour as i have already taught you, remember what i said, don't be afraid of this, It may be called a curse but you can use it to benefit you and those around you" Frobisher jumped up and down on the spot, getting ready to block anything. Suddenly Ash opened her eyes and flung a massive punch at Frobisher. Suzy's eyes lit up, A hero at her school...one of her friends was actually a hero, she had always been afraid of them since the death of her mother and disappearance of her father. She leapt off the aparatus and laughed, Frobisher turned quickly and screamed "DUCK!" as he did Ash jumped at Suzy in a blind rage.....
"Is it over...am i hurt?" Suzy kept her eyes closed, afraid of the worst. She could hear struggling next to her so slowly opened her eyes, inches away from her was Frobisher restraining Ash.
"Whats wrong with her sir..Shes my friend she wouldn't attack me like that!"
"Im sorry Suzy but i cannot explain why she did this, I have sworn to her parents i would keep this a secret"
"What was that "curse" you spoke of...I've only ever learnt of the dangerous CoT ones"
"Suzy leave this room now, I want no more from you"
"But sir..."
"LEAVE NOW!"
Ash struggled under Frobisher as Suzy ran out of the room shutting the doors behind her....What had happened to her friend that night? She was never like this when she was around Suzy during the day, Something was going on and she had to find out....

The moon shone through the windows of the schools gym. Two figures stood oppisite each other just, watching.
"I need you to control it.." Frobisher clenched a fist and prepared himself, Ash who was stood just across from him muttered "Im not ready to deal with this, I don't care if its a price to pay for my powers".
The two continued to talk quietly, unaware of someone lurking in the shadows. Suzy had dilberatly ignored Frobisher to find out what was going on. "God damn it man, cut to the action" She waved her fist in the air, just as Frobisher leapt from the ground and onto Ash who relatliated with quite some force.
Drawing a small camera phone from her pocket Suzy grabbed herself some pretty good photos of that night. The only things to stick in her mind were what it was Ash was saying, like some other language.
The sun rose with a deep red colour that morning, an eerie silence loomed over Atlas Park. Suzy sat in her room, still awake, and still examining the photos. Ash who was now her room mate was out cold on her bed. But not for long. Suzy slammed to drawer shut on her desk, causing Ash to jump smacking her head off the bottom on the bunk bed.
"Ah shiiii-taki mushrooms.. That was uncalled for, i was sleeping!"
"I don't care" Suzy grumbled something under her breath and kept writing. This kind of thing went on for atleast another year, night after night watching Frobisher and Ash. Until it came to their graduation day and the trip down to Glastonbury.
"Hold up Suzy, can't you stay inside this tent...Its poaring down out there"
"Nah, the atmosphere is better if i go out" Suzy slowly stepped out the tent and into the rain. Ash sat back and watched, giving in instantly and following her out.
"You know i'd have to agree, it is much better"
The rain continued to pummel the ground, getting worse every second. Ash looked over her shoulder at people leaving quickly because of the weather. "Are you sure its save to stay here? Suzy? Suzy.." The wind began to pick up and knocked Ash off her feet, Suzy was still no-where in sight. "[censored] it! Where the hell is she" The area seemed to be empty, everyone had gone, all but Ash and Suzy.
The storm cleared slowly but surely, Ash the only one left standing in a massive field. And there she was, just across from her. Suzy lieing out cold on the floor. Once taken to the hospital doctors said she was in some sort of coma, it was hard for Ash to bare, She spent that whole night crying, screaming to herself "Its this curse...All i see is DEATH!" ...

The Doctors at Atlas Parks main infirmary can remember Ash just sitting right next to Suzy's bed. She always refused to leave. So they just left her there.
It was 2 weeks after the event at Glastonbury and Ash begun to worry about Suzys life. So there was only one solution, A quick trip to the nearest Circle of Thorns base. This is what they had been waiting for, the day she would come to them.
"The cursed girl, she comes"
"Yes i can feel it, Her presence is near, our plan is going well"
"She arrives, The door is opened, our leader will awaken once more"
Ash slowly stepped through the small wooden door, leading down into a dark cave. The crystals embedded in the wall were the only things producing light. Eyes from the shadows watched her walk slowly down into the heart of the cave, where three Thorn members waited for her.
"We have been expecting you, we know what you seek"
Ash paused and swallowed her fear, "Yes im here to save my friend, and im willing to give anything"
Although they wore hoods each of the Thorns grinned and nodded to each other. "It is power you seek, we must awaken the gene inside you, your fathers gene" It was strange how they all knew what she wanted, although it wasn't apparent to Ash at this time. They all stood up and began to chant something in another language, for once in her life Ash felt different. Powerful. Everything blacked out and Ash woke up in the hospital with a start.
"Huh i was just.." She clenched both her hands into fists and heard a voice in her head speak to her, "The time will come when we seek our payback".
Suzy who was lieing in the bed next to her opened her eyes for the first time in almost 3 weeks as Ash placed a hand on her head, diving off the chair she hugged her tightly, just as the doctors came rushing in to see what had happened.
Perhaps some good had come out of this. Awakening her fathers power gene inside her had given her the powers she needed to bring her friend back to this world. But there was a cost to it. Almost certainly a deadly one.
Paragon City - 2006
A single hero stood watching over the city, nearby Statesman was speaking to others about a raid on the Preatorian base belonging to Tyrant.
Her cape blew in the wind, and the sun glistening against the black and white Spandex she was wearing.
"Lovely isn't it ?" She sighed, Stood next to her was her old highschool friend Suzy. Because of the incident at Glastonbury Suzy had gained powers of storm and mind control, thus becoming the heroine known as Chiefette.
Ash was still worried about her powers, was Earth Armour and Energy Melee supposed to cause so much worry? Like her father she had taken up the name Steel Ravenwing, and wore a pretty similar costume to his.
"I would probably agree with you there, Although something isn't right.." The sky was a blood red colour that morning, and something eerie loomed in the air.
Suzy smiled and stood close to Ash, admiring her for some time until finally snapping out of her daze when Ash coughed once and raised an eyebrow, blushing briefly and turning back round to avoid the attention.
"Gather round heroes, Today two of Paragons finest will assist myself and the Freedom Phalanx in todays base raid.
Ok first of all i would like to congratulate Chiefette on becoming the first member to join us."
Ash sighed to herself and thought to herself "Shes finally gotten her big break..." Statesman looked around the crowd and offered a hand to Ash "And our second heroine, Steel Ravenwing. Obviously Chiefettes sidekick" Ash blushed intensly as Suzy jumped on her, almost hugging her to death.
That night was the raid on Tyrants base, each hero stood outside the main portal in Peregrine Isle. Straight faces, each a bag of nerves but not showing it. Tonight was the night it could end. That eerie presence still loomed over Paragon City, Ash could feel it. Thats when she heard it.
"Tonight is the night we want our payment ... In death"

(Sorry for taking so long on releasing this part. As you know im busy with drawings.)
Each hero stared at the portal. Fear in there eyes, the outlook so bleak. Ash stepped back and rubbed her head just as Statesman looked at them all and smiled briefly "We begin..Just like the plan went. Lets do this heroes" The feeling of Illness fell over them all, one by one they stepped towards the portal, nodding in assurance and stepping through into another dimension...where something would wait for them.
Ash grabbed Suzys hand and pulled her along "Good look..". Suzy smiled and the two stood looking into each others eyes...holding hands. Its was a strange moment, something just clicked, that was until Ash broke out of 'this' trance. "Ok..Uhm..Yeah Portal" She turned her head and went bright red running through the portal only to face the other heroes in deep combat. Each was faced with a large group of Statesmans croneys. Suzy stepped through the portal after Ash and looked around muttering "This is where its begins or ends" She looked at Ash and stuttered out "I love you" before running off into a group of enemies. Thats when everything collapsed, Ash was so dumbstruck a massive group of enemies jumped her, the others rushed to help but got in over their heads...
"Ugh..Where..Where Am i?" The room tilted and blurred, Ash tried to rub her eyes but something restrained them, she continues to pull at them, but only the shaking of chains could be heard.
"She joins us in this world" A blurred figure that looked very similar to Statesman stood infront of her "Ashlee Burns, I have been looking forward to meeting you. So have the Thorns" Ash looked up and the first thing she uttered wasn't let me go or where am i but "Wheres Suzy...What have you done with her?!" The Statesman lookie-like was none other than Tyrant, he pointed to the other side of the room where Suzy was chained up being held against the wall and punched repeatedly by A large looking man, rather like Back Alley Brawler, but Tyrant called him Marauder.
"Stop hurting her..STOP IT!" As Ash screamed the iris of her eye began to turn red, She tugged on the chains so hard they began to fray in her grasp. Tyrant was visibly grinning, ear to ear prettymuch. "Excellent, it is like they foretold..I want my reward for this catch". Two Thorns stood behind Tyrant and nodded, in their hands was a small bottle, glowing with a firey red colour. "The prize shall be yours, all we need is the body of this girl for her" They all paused as Ash pulled at the chains, snapping one attatched to her leg. One Thorn stepped forward and held the bottle out towards Ash and the other chanted something in Oranbegan, as they did a small red mist rose from the bottle and was inhailed by Ash. She choked and leant back. Marauder snapped the chains and Ash fell to the floor, both Thorns nodded and Tyrant clasped his hands together, laughing "Good, it is complete then!" He pointed at Suzy again and leant down towards Ash whispering in her ear "I hope you have adapted spirit, i want my reward..You may have your first kill" Ash stood to her feet, her eyes still a red colour. Both her and Tyrant turned to face Suzy, grins spread across their faces....
"So finally, I meet the Infamous Helena Ashlee Burns. I never expected you to go so low as to posses someone, I guess thats what you get from the Thorns" She glanced over at Tyrant a slight glint in her eye, "Don't give me that, This girl has power beyond even my capabilites..Its something I needed to have and for getting me it you will have your reward. Oh and before you continue, Its Blazeix Get it?!?".
Helena Ashlee Burns, or more formally known as Blazeix in the Rogue Isles, was the one people called the Thorn Princess, Very famous by legend, years ago she killed her family because she wanted the Throne and the power that came with it. Unfortunatly due to the fact that was called Treachery the head mage of her own Covenant killed her in an attempt to keep the humans thinking all Oranbegans were of a good nature...Yeah like that was ever true.
Her eyes shifted as Tyrant tutted and started muttering some sarcastic nonsense, she stood staring at Suzy chained to a wall near them, Marauder holding her by her neck making sure she made no attempt to use her powers, IF she could.
Blazeix clenched two fists and looked at Marauder, Tyrant instantly clicked and signaled for him to bring her over. Marauder unchained Suzy and threw her to the floor and forced her to her knees. Blazeix held her hand under Suzys neck and made her look up at her for that all important superiority. "So your the girl they have told me about..The one who lead me to my prize, I thank you for that" Suzy looked up with bloodshot eyes, the pain was so incredible it made it near impossible to speak. "So the girl doesn't want to speak, i thought like any other hero you'd beg for your life..Hmm? I hear no answer..Fine then". She sneered and raised her arm. As Blazeixs fist connected with Suzys skull there was an eerie crack and she crashed to the floor.
Blazeix closed her eyes and started to laugh, a puddle of blood gathered on the floor but Suzy recoiled to her original position and looked up at Blazeix. "Oh someones one strong hero, well we'll have to end that won't we" She glanced towards Tyrant who was busy fingering all of the money he'd recieved for bringing Ash, Marauder on the other hand noticed Blazeix looking over and assissted by holding Suzy up by her neck and nodded as if waiting for an order of some sort.
"Its time to test my new power then" A grin spread from ear to ear across Blazeix face, again she raised her arm and with one last breath Suzy muttered "I love you Ashlee...".
The Sun turned the sky a blood red colour that night. The birds were silent, nothing stirred, the streets with deserted, only the whirring of the portal could be heard in Peregrine Isle. And among it all was a team of heroes...And one dead Ally.

Seriously, a good story! And a very interesting plot twist
Bad luck was always a thing of the past with me. Bad luck runs in my families blood. I remember the night so well...It stuck in my mind ever since i was little...
Nerva Archipelago, Midnight, The moon rose into the night sky shining across the deep forests of Thorn Isle. The rain pummeled the ground as black clouds began to force the moon into hiding. Two heroes stood side by side on an opening in the forest just across from the main temple. Each wore a matching costume. To many people living in Paragon the two were known as Steel Ravenwing and Catz, as famous pair. To their families they were known as Richard Davies and Rachel Davies, with them was stood their 7 year old daughter, Ashlee whom' was the 2nd of 3 girls in the family.
The rain continued to pummel the ground, from a distance flames could be seen being lit around the circle temples...Something was going on. Out of the woods marched atleast 100 Circle mages carrying torches and some carrying books.
"I knew they would be here sooner or later" Laughed Steel, Catz stared at him and shook her head.
"Its not a laughing matter Richard, We know what they are here for" Ashlee immediatly wimpered and kept a tight hold of her mother. The Thorns continued to close in on both heroes, chanting something, As they surrounded them a female thorn stood infront of them and laughed. She was what you would call a "Blonde [censored]" very confident of her looks and style, always flicking her hair over her shoulder.
"So what do you want this time Blazeix?"
Blazeix smirked and laughed, "Im back for your daughter, i trust now shes older that her power has grown beyond even your capabilties"
"I can't believe you arrogance Blazeix, Your never going to lay your hands on my daughter" Catz sneered and held her daughters hand tightly.
"Fine then, Have it that way...Boys" The crowd of mages behind Blazeix began to chant, She grinned maniaclly "So let there be a curse on her" In a burst of rage and anger Steel jumped on Blazeix and held his fist to her face, with a flick of the wrist she blasted him back with a burst of flames.
"Rachel...Make a run with Ashlee, i don't want either of you getting hurt" Steel gave Catz a sharp nudge , she stumbled back and noded as visible tears began to fall down her face.
Catz grabbed her daughter and ran into the dense forest, whilst Steel made his way into the massive group of Thorns...As the two ran deeper into the forest the night sky became silent...A shriek of terror filled the air..Silence.
Catz burst into tears as her daughter tugged her sleave, quietly asked "Is daddy alright?..."
The clouds in the sky slowly faded that night and the moon continued to shine over Paragon City and the Rogue Isles...Everything was over for that day. But for one small girl it was only beginning.
