Kinetic Psyonic Blast Tip;s Plz !

HI made yet another alt, lol This 1 is mainly for PVE but i would like to solo missions if i have to, plau PvP is a bonus !

I'm lvl waiting for tips, i pretty much know Kin coz i cot an Ill Kin Cont, it's just the Psi side of things i have 0 idea about.
Any tip what to pick what not to pick, TY !

Also since i'm lvl 1 & waiting, would Kinetic Sonic Blast, be a better soloable Defender, if it is, can i have tips on Sonic plz & i will remake if sonic is the better choice.

psy : get will dom, tele blast and subdue, sod the rest really pretty cack + hasten and those 3 can be a nice attack chain.

defender sonic as solo (blaster style) aint very dmg'ing, coupled with rad it should be ok with -res etc, but not with kin. Could be wrong but if kin, go psy roXX

Cool, i'm lvling her atm & have 0 end preoblems & quite soloable for a defender.
So i think i will keep her & maybe make a Sonic (on Union) to compare, lol i got no slots left.

I've just got my kin/psi defender to lv 38 and am LOVING her. I took psionic tornado too, just for the hell of it (it's nice to have an AoE attack) plus it's got a nice knockdown effect (not knockback, but knockdown, so you can fire off psionic tornado, let all the bad guys fall down, run in and happily fire off Fulcrum Shift). But the best attack chain does have to be, as has already been said, will domination, telekinetic blast and subdue. I didn't bother slotting mental blast (I only use it if EVERYTHING else is recharging) nor did I bother slotting siphon power (I use fulcrum shift for my damage boost now).

My attack chain, planned at lv 41, will be: Mass Hypnosis -> Fulcrum Shift (doesn't wake up the sleeping babies) -> psychic wail. Already at lv 38, PW with FS can almost take out entire mobs (that's with NO damage enhancements in it). BTW, before anyone starts shouting the odds re: my power placements/slots, this is my respec (whilst getting up to lv 20, I'd taken the fitness power pool and more attacks earlier on, like subdue).

The only change im going to make is Im going to get Air Superiority & Fly, instead of the Leaping pool, But if ckockback get's to much, i will respec to SJ coz i HATE knockback, espeially PVP!

If you really want to take Fly instead of SJ, then I suggest taking Hover (and slot it for 1 defense) instead of Air Superiority, as it too offers knockback protection (you just kind of do a girly little spin in mid-air). If you have Siphon Speed (with 2 slows slotted) then you'll be whizzing along with hover at a very nice pace indeed. Get 2 Siphon Speeds stacked and it's waaaaay faster then Fly (in fact, it's getting almost to the speed of Super Speed) - I'm pretty sure that this is the flying speed cap.

I've respecced my defender again in light of I8 - I tried Acrobatics, but wasn't all that happy with it due to its lack of sleep protection (and later on in the game, I've found, most of the mezzes that are used are sleep - so toggles STILL drop).

A couple of things: 1) I've respecced Mental Blast back in as a viable attack power. What made it utterly pants before I8 was the horrific animation time - you could actually be faceplanted by several minions in the time that it took you to fire this power off (2.67 seconds!) Now it's been reduced - don't know what the official animation time is, but it seems even shorter than Telekinetic Blast (and that's just 1 second). 2) I've taken Super Speed and Stealth along with Hasten. I can get my Psychic Wail up in about 3 minutes or so (that's unslotted for recharges at the minute, as am lv 39 and will slot it for 2 recharges when I get to 40). SS stacked with Stealth DOES give Invisibility (not against those with +perception, such as Rikti Drones and snipers, but then again neither does Invisibility). I figured that Stealth + SS is better than Invisibility for a couple of reasons: it costs less endurance and you can still attack whilst you've got them both on. 3) I dropped Scramble Thoughts in favour of Dominate because Dominate has a slightly faster recharge (16 instead of 20 seconds) and the hold lasts 15 seconds as opposed to Scramble Thoughts' 10 seconds disorient. 4) Took Telekinesis as a 'panic power' so you can keep one (or more) minions/lieuts perma-held whilst fighting another lot of mobs. I've got it on my Mind Troller, and it's come in quite useful at times.

My advice is as always, try it out on the test server first. Do a few missions, and see how you get on with the powers. This is just MY combo that I like and you may find that you prefer another combo.

Personally i would get hover instead of air supe for combat kb protection. You will be in melee a lot so KB is a pain and i prefer taking hover over the leaping pool, partly for concept and also because i'ts nice to have at least one or two toons without the leaping pool.

I take hover on all my kins, 3 slotted for fly speed and with a slow enc in siphon speed (2 acc, 3 rec, 1 slow) it's really nippy once you get going, gives you excellent maneuverability and no supression.

Immob is of course still a problem, but tbh the only insps i need are BFs anyway.

Edit: just noticed wondergran pretty much already pointed all this out, but i didn't notice coz it was all in the quote box I would still suggest 3 slots in hover, just because you will miss with SP on occasion or just for when your getting started. Kin really is a hectic set, once you start rolling things get faster and faster.

Oh and just read that Hover just got a slight buff in i8...base speed increased by 10%...nice little bonus

10% Nice thats better than CJ isnt it?
The only problem i have is i have allready taken Air Superiority Because i wan to swerve towards the PVP build . But i am deff getting Hover at a later lvl PLUS i have 21 months worth of free respecs so if i do go wrong i will have to use 1, but so far i have been following your I8 build & i must say i can solo as good as most Blaster's atm, but i am a team player so i dont solo often.

Sure, no probs. First, open up Windows Explorer and make a new folder (called CoHTest) and copy all of the CoH files and folders from your 'City of Heroes' folder into your CoHTest folder. We're now working in the CoHTest folder: right-click your CoHUpdater.EU.exe file and select 'create shortcut.' Now, right-click on that shortcut and select 'properties.' In the 'shortcut' tab, add the following to what is already typed in the shortcut (without the quotes): ' -test' So where it says 'target' in the 'shortcut' tab, mine reads "C:\Games\CoHTest\CohUpdater.EU.exe -test" (my CoH test folder is in a folder called 'games'). Now, double-click on your shortcut that you just created. It'll ask you where to install City of Heroes to - just point it to the folder MINUS the 'CoHTest' folder. So for mine, I told it to install to 'C:\Games' and then it'll download whatever patch it needs and bingo, you're on test server.

Hope I've not complicated it too much for ya
