Project NRG - Sylencer story line

hey guys since there isnt enough room to write the full story in the bio screen for my stalker i decided to post the full version here. it's a story line i've had in the pipe lines for some time but i've never actually got round to writing, but having the inspiration for sylencer has given me the movitation that i needed. so with a little help from my bro we've got the ball rolling. when i get round to it ill post the begins for the Project NRG saga based on one of my heroes known as NRG (funnily enough lol) but for now i hope you enjoy this post to wet your creative appetites until i get round to completing the full saga. feed back is welcome, mainly coz i like to know what people think =)

For years military scientists have dreamt of creating the perfect soldier. Now, thanks to state of the art power enhancing Exo-suits, that dream has become a reality. Three suits had been produced for testing in the field; one by the Super Hero Prototype X, one by Colonel Smith Johnson of Longbow and one that had yet to be cleared for experimentation. The experiment was marked classified and nicknamed Project NRG.

Mikey James was a young opportunistic techno thief; stealing, copying and modifying anything he deemed of value. Having already stolen a prototype light bending Stealth Shield from the Council, James was slowly starting to make a name for himself as a first class cat-burglar. On one fateful night, having just pulled off yet another undetected robbery, with the aid of his stolen Stealth Shield, James stumbled upon a botched attempt by Arachnos to learn the location of Project NRG’s laboratory. An Arachnos spy, who had infiltrated Longbow’s facility, was being apprehended by Granyte, the mighty stone tanker along with several Longbow agents. Still completely invisible thanks to his Stealth Shield, James, ever the opportunist, decided to follow the Hero back to the base. After hours of aimlessly wondering around the high security complex, the young thief eventually stumbled upon the storage facility of the Project NRG Exo-suits. Having heard the rumours from the criminal underground, James new what he had found; there in front of him stood the third exo-suit – fate had given him a shot at the big time.

Reaching out for the suit, the thief must have triggered some sort of alarm; for no sooner did he have the suit in his hands then all hell broke loose. Security, led by the project leader, Aurora Myst, was quick to respond. James barely had chance to done the suit before they arrived. Newly empowered by the suit, security were no match the thief. Activating his Stealth Shield, James disappeared into the night, taking his new acquisition with him.

Incorporating his stolen Stealth Shield into his newly stolen Exo-suit, James was now a force to be reckoned with. With the ability to turn himself invisible at will and the enhanced abilities given to him by the Exo-suit, Mikey James took the name Sylencer. Emerging from the shadows, striking with unprecedented force and vanishing as quickly as he appeared, Sylencer quickly began to make a name.

Having heard in the news of a delivery of microchips to a Crey Industries laboratory, Sylencer planned to strike. However in a twist of fate, having just dealt with an attempted bank robbery, Prototype X and the Peacebringer Twilight Ghost were on hand. Appearing from the shadows, Sylencer quickly dealt with the transport guards; however he hadn’t counted on the presence of the two heroes. Quick to react, Prototype X positioned himself between the would be thief and his target. Bringing up the rear Twilight Ghost fired upon Sylencer, unleashing a mighty blast of Kheldian energy. Although caught off guard, James’ newly enhanced reactions allowed him to dodge the blast by the skin of his teeth. Activating his Stealth Shield, Mikey made to escape. However, Sylencer’s wasn’t the only Exo-suit in operation. Using his own enhanced senses, Prototype X let loose his Shockwave attack. The attack glanced off the stealth shield, momentarily uncloaking the thief. That was all the target that the Peacebringer needed. Unleashing a second blast, Twilight Ghost caught James square in the chest sending the thief sprawling over the bonnet of the transport truck. Out of sight and with his Stealth Shield once again cloaking him, James made his escape.

His escape narrow, James went into hiding. With all the robberies under his belt, his Swiss bank account looking more then healthy, James figured that one last high stake theft would make his retirement fund complete. After reading about a shipment of state of the art Cryo rifles to a Longbow complex, Mikey new he’d found his final score.


Following the convoy from the shadows, Sylencer waited for the right moment to strike. Sensing that the time was right, he made is move. Quickly subduing the guards, James moved to the back of the transport seeking his prize. Taking a deep breath, anticipating the collection of his final theft, James opened the rear doors. There were no Cryo rifles, instead of his treasure; he was met with a blinding blue light. The light hit him with the impact of a lightening bolt sending him flying from the van. Emerging from the transport Prototype X and Colonel Smith Johnson looked down on their surprised quarry. Surprised turned to anger; it had all been a trap. Cloaking himself, Sylencer went on the offensive, knocking both the heroes to the ground with his fast attacks. Utilizing his Exo-suits outfitted Pyro-combustion unit, Johnson blanketed the area in a thick smoke. With no light to bend, James’ Stealth Shield was useless. Their foe now uncloaked, the heroes moved in for the “kill”. Prototype X let rip his Shockwave attack. Dodging the mutants attack, Sylencer sidestepped straight into another energy blast from Johnson. Not allowing the thief any time to regain his footing, the Longbow Colonel trapped James in a fiery ring. Seizing his chance, Prototype X launched at Sylencer, driving his adamantium claws into the Suits power core. Critically damaged, the Exo-suits failsafe kicked in rendering the suit rigid. Unable to move James was defeated.

His Swiss account found and wiped, his robberies accounted for and with testimonies from four of Paragon Cities top heroes, Mikey James was sentenced to fifty years in Brickstowns Zig.

Four days into his sentence a new opportunity fell in James’ lap. Arachnos attacked the Prison complex, breaking out several key members of the Criminal organisation. Taking advantage of the ensuing chaos, Mikey was able to break into the Prisons storage facility and reclaim his Stealth Shield. Activating his cloak, James strolled out of the front gate to freedom. Hitching an invisible ride in an Arachnos Flyer the thief landed in the Rogue Isles. Setting up a small base of operation, Mikey dialled into his old computer remotely and downloaded the plans he’d copied from his stolen Exo-suit. Using technology stolen from Council, Arachnos and the Goldbrickers, James was able to slowly rebuild a new version of the Exo-suit, albeit with a few modifications. Now with the whole of the Rogue Isles unprepared, Sylencer is preparing for his return.

Well done mate, very nice in depth story, but the last paragraph seems familiar some how, like I might have wrote it in a previous life or something to that extent....nah just kidding [img]/uk/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

Good story, I enjoyed it a lot.

The fact he's having to rebuild the suit again makes for a plausible reason why he's gone from super-powerful to a lowbie on the Islands too and how he's slowly climbing back up the ladder.
