Passive resists vs aid self - which should I take?

Having a great time with my lev 23 Stone/Inv brute. The only problems I am having are:
1) end shortage (now largely cured with stamina, but may become a problem again later when attacks further slotted or if I get hasten)
2) building fury - I seem to be very slow at this
3) poor resistance to anything other than smash/lethal.

My question is about the last of these. I have noticed that whenever I meet anything with attacks other than smash/lethal, my health simply plummets. Mainly it has been fire that I've met so far (demolitionists, Council fire guys etc), but I'm sure there's much more to come.

The problem is that I need to have lots of ppl attacking me in order to build fury. However if they have non-SL/damage, they kill me!

So, what is the best strategy to mitigate this? I have unyielding, and will 3 slot this with dam res. But what then? Should I take the 2 passive shields, or should I take aid self instead? The sheields seem to give very low additional res. How practical is it to use aid self in combat? Although it uses end, and will mean a break in my attack chain, it seems a more flexible and possibly a better solution.

Which should I go for, and why?

Have you got Dull Pain and Invincibilty?

I have dull pain (currently slotted 3xRecharge, 1xheal). Invincibility is not available yet. I think it's first available at lev 28.

Hi m8,

Might be a silly question, but do U have end reductions on ur powers/shields?
Invul. is a very heavy set, even with 3-slotted stamina it wares U out, combine this with the most heave end-attack set (stone) and U need to do a good end management to be up and running all the time.

What the passive res. concerns, I don't use them, not enough resistance for me to take'm, only 5% unslotted I think. and since 80% is S/L damage, I went for that (I even picked up tough on the way).
The brute's moto is kill them before they can kill You, don't try to tank'm (or be in GA) :-)

Is it possible to post ur build with herobuilder?

The passives are pretty rubbish, I would go for an attack with control if available ( tremor or fault ) or slot them with most recharge if you have them. You should try and put some more slots in Dull Pain too if possible.

Aid Self is interruptible and so needs heavy slotting before it is usable in dangerous circumstance. I heard that with 3 interrupts it can be used mostly without interruption. I have never had it though.
