defender /elec question

Hi People

rolling a new /elec defender and wondered if anyone could answere a quick question for me;

If i slot my elec ranged powers with "enhance endurance modification" will it increase the amount of endurance the target looses, or just the amount passed back to me?

It will increase both. However it isn't often that you get any endurance back.

However the only powers which have a noticeable drain are Short Circuit and the snipe ( forgotten what it is called ).

The problem with end drain is that most enemies can happily use all their powers for 3 hours without running out of endurance. So unless you drain them to zero they are still as effective as if they weren't drained.

Short Circuit, if slotted with 3 end mod single origin enhancements is able to drain enemies in 2 applications. Because it has a -recovery component you can keep enemies completely helpless.

so if i get short circuit and the snipe, slot em up to take care of pesky enemys, then i can concentrate on primary and pool powers?

Short Circuit is about twice as good as the snipe for end drain. It doesn't give you any back though.

Personally I just use Short Circuit as an end drain power, although this means you end up facing lots of angry enemies until you can get the second one off.

Really it depends on your primary.

thinking sonics, im not after an uber-build, just one that works well enough to be fun to play

My Corr has the sonics def set and i like the sounds it makes lol - thats why i chose it ;P

If you want to rely on others for damage, sure skip on the rest of your secondary set. But if you ever find yourself in a low damage team or solo then you'll want some decently slotted attacks. Even so, 3 Dam & 1 Acc in Charged Bolts & Lightning Bolt should be enough if you want to team most (all) of the time.

Don't expect too much from Zapp (the snipe). It's slow to fire and recharge as all other snipes. Short Circuit is also

It should also be noted that the secondary effect of Thunderous Blast is similar to Short Circuit in power.

And remember that minions are rarely worth draining of endurance, it'll usually be faster to just defeat them. Beyond that, any mob that can't attack for an extended period of time, whether due to few attacks and lots of -Recharge or lack of endurance, will try to flee.

Thunderous Blast has a substantial End drain and -Recovery too. Although it's primary purpose is damage, leaving anything left standing drained is a nice side effect.

Thunderous Blast has a substantial End drain and -Recovery too. Although it's primary purpose is damage, leaving anything left standing drained is a nice side effect.

Hmmm. I'm thinking my kin/elec is going to be nasty in 1v1 pvp. Power build up > Thunderous blast (Doesn't leave you drained of end if only hitting a single target) > Transferance > Confused, angry and toggleless scrapper/tank etc

Unless they have end drain resist, in which case you get beaten. Probably a lot, thunderous blasts HURT

Dont forget to chuck in Short Circuit which is a truly awesome power with Power Boost/Power Build up

Like to see how much end a rooted tank would lose with PBU, Short Circuit, Transfusion, Thunderous Blast, Transference . . .

Probably not quite as nasty as you hope.

Endurance Drain is not 100% effective in PvP, more like 25%. What helps you is the fact that players are good at draining their own endurance.
