Sonic Def: Advice needed
[ QUOTE ]
Does the Sonic ally-anchored debuff AoE cause aggro to *you* and not the anchor ally, and is that aggro serious?
[/ QUOTE ]
You, and not as long as you stick it on a tank or something that has a PbAoE DoT or taunt aura.
[ QUOTE ]
Has anyone found the repulsion to be of any use, or does it simply exhaust you?
[/ QUOTE ]
Take lots of blues if you want to use it. I found that I only really used it to drop on people in PuGs to confuse them, since the animation is nearly invisible and it made me laugh to see a scrapper chase a minion around the same room for 30 seconds, until my end ran out. It'll grab you as much aggro as disruption field will.

Do your ally-anchored and PB AoE's switch off/have no effect when you rest?
[/ QUOTE ]
I have no idea, but I would assume not since you can run other toggle powers when you're resting. It's possible that the debuff stops applying, but I'm pretty sure the will toggle keeps running regardless.

Do you truly have no sleep resistance, and is Health really no help with that?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, same as FF, you have no sleep resistance. No, Health is really no help. The resistance from Health lowers the duration of the sleep after it's hit you rather than preventing it from mezzing you at all.

Does anyone know how res debuffs work on higher level enemies: e.g.[LIST][*]a +4 with 50% resistance to you due to level, when sapped by -40% resistance, turns into only 10% resistance to you, [*]or does the debuff only amplify the percentage of damage that gets through? i.e. 50-(40*'50%')= 30% resistance to you?
[/ QUOTE ]
As long as you can hit the enemy, you'll debuff the same amount of resistance no matter what level they are
.
[ QUOTE ]
All resistance debuffs are unenhanceable - yes? -15% AoE and -25% Single target?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, the -resistance debuffs are unenhanceable. The numbers you have are pretty much right, and with Scream and Shriek slotted with 3 recharge plus all my other debuffs I could stack somewhere around -150% -res, which was nice.
[ QUOTE ]
So, with all of the above, should I have gone /dark to dodge the inevitable aggro, or /sonic, because the primary res debuffs just aren't enough, instead of /rad which is going to debuff them even more and turn me into a massive aggro magnet?
[/ QUOTE ]
Personally, I went /sonic because I liked the look of the set. Looking back now, I probably would have picked it anyway since the -resistance stacks really well with the -resistance from the primary.

[/ QUOTE ]
No, you can keep running them while resting (although Disruption Field has the annoying tendency to detoggle when your anchor moves a bit too far (i.e. uses lifts).

And remember that you cannot stack Sonic Siphon. So recharges are only useful to use it on different targets.
CoX 50s: <ill/rad> <ice/ice> <fire/kin> <grav/sonic> <ice/storm> <earth/kin> <kin/elec> <cold/psy> <thugs/dark> <fire/dark> <dark/elec> <night widow> <EM/ninj> <mind/icy>
Wow. Thanks for the highly informative and very helpful answers
Okeydokey - looks like I need to fly to keep out of melee, and put some slots in rest, to recharge behind pillars a lot, quickly. Since I won't have stamina
I may also have to squeeze whatever defence I can muster out of the power pool to stay alive a little longer.
One last question maybe. Is rad secondary actually *useful* for debuffs, or is everyone worth their salt already able to pound purple when under a Tactics aura?
The character concept is generally aimed at helping a team take on impossible purples and live, hence resistance buff/debuffs and enemy defence debuffs.
Still wondering whether I should toss /rad for /sonic... on the other hand, thinking about it, this could be quite entertaining for PvP...

I'm rolling a Sonic/Rad def, but I'm getting a tad nervous and I need someone to help me clear up a few things:
Does the Sonic ally-anchored debuff AoE cause aggro to *you* and not the anchor ally, and is that aggro serious?
Ditto for the ally-anchored repulsion field.
Has anyone found the repulsion to be of any use, or does it simply exhaust you?
Do your ally-anchored and PB AoE's switch off/have no effect when you rest?
Do you truly have no sleep resistance, and is Health really no help with that?

Don't like the look of this.....
