Journal Entry: Status of The Silent Tempest

The Silent Tempest - status check 28.5.2006 - submitted 29.5. at 2 am.
I will start making frequent reports on Tempest activities and developments. This feature should help members keep tabs on what is going on.
New members
Azure Sting will become a member when the registration goes through during Monday. She has helped in a few cases and should prove to be a valuable member to the team.
Alliances
We have made a pact with Ghost Tiger Investigations. We have employed them on a few occasions and a few more active contacts can't hurt. Beside that both Pyranha and Zania have fought well and a few extra hands in a tight spot will be good. We will offer them our assistance should they need it if we can.
Structure
It seems that the command structure of Tempest needs to be discussed. There will be a meeting about it.
Personal
I have handed over certain pills that helped me to carry on without sleeping. The need for sleep will kick in soon. No idea how long I will be out. Coila has the command.

Silent Tempest base of operations
Steel Guard recently installed a power source in the base. Gaining recognition and reputation at the Corps, the town authorities, allowed us to receive logistical support.
It is obvious to me we need to prove our work as a team has a real positive impact for the town in order to get more support in the future.
The resources to fight crime are stretched and I understand all registered supergroups can't claim a fully functionnal base just because they want.
There is no wonder why we were able to get the support to install a power source after our strike against the Clockwork King.
Considering most of the Silent Tempest members are meddling in the Freakshow activities, the writer suggests here to focus our attention on this particuliar group and prepare a decisive strike against the Freakshow in the near future.
However, the fight is a promise of a long and difficult task so has to be carefully planned to ensure all Silent Tempest members are ready and available.
Internal relationships
Coile, Coila and Kitia are all having, or had, personnal crisis. It turned to personnal conflicts several times.
The last crisis turned into a structure problem. After Coila got analysis results of a chemical product Coile was ingesting, the danger of an addiction or side effects on Coile became apparent.
As Coile refused the idea the team could command him to stop ingesting the said chemical product, the writer suggests things have to be clarified about the team role and its capacity to make its members comply to a common decision.
As the Silent Tempest is a dual entity, led by two members of equal standing, the writer is asking how a conflict between the two lead members will be solved.
Associating with other groups
The Silent Tempest decided to associate with Ghost Tiger Investigations recently.
This cooperation with a Private Eyes team can greatly enhance our capacity to locate criminal and malevolent organizations.
That said, the writer is asking if future cooperations to be announced are the only responsabilities of the co-leadership or has to be submitted to the whole team approval.
The writer, trusting the co-leadership judgement, is not asking for a whole team approval.

I am in the Silent Tempest since almost three weeks now. The base is slowly but regularly expanding.
We now have to work even harder to show the Silent Tempest is a force to be recognized and supported by the town authorities.
The technology we could install in the base would greatly improve our capacity to fight crime across the town.
The team activity decreased a little since the last week, notably because of Coila and Kitia "going away". I hope we'll all be able to muster our forces again regularly.
Kitia is my deepest worry. She looks as if something just snaped in her mind since Coila two disappearances.
Kitia wasn't in position to help her lover the two times. I am also afraid she felt as if not worthy enough to be Coila confident. A kind of breach in their mutual trust.
When I meet Kitia now, it's as if her mind was back several years ago, even if I don't know her. It's just a feeling, I can't really compare.
Coila seems to have gone through her trauma following the vazhilok infection. She hides her face. The scar looks deeper than just physical damage.
Coile is going to make me mad. Yesterday, I almost slaped him in the face.
I know our relationship is difficult but I now have trouble to stay calm.
I have to work on that if I want to stay in the Silent Tempest. I cannot ask him to control his emotions if I am not able to control mine. It would otherwise end into an endless fingerpointing at each other.
I am actually lost, somewhat disarmed in front of him.
Apparently, only adopting a cold attitude will suit his tastes. Otherwise, he will just say I am flirting or teasing him.
So far, I have to carefully think what I am going to tell him, I have to watch my behaviour. I cannot allow anything really friendly happening as I know it will backfire almost immediately.
That's really sad. He can be a real nice guy at times.
Subaiku is secretive. She's most of the time doing her work on her own. Sometimes, she surprises me, when she leaves without warnings or when she decides to not answer to Coila calls.
Steel Guard is the efficient addition. Little emotionnal involvement in the team, which is be a good thing, seeing how often personnal feelings interfere with the team, hopefully never to become a problem however.
He's our technician and I trust him about the base development.

The Azure Sting mystery
Yesterday, the Silent Tempest member Coila, Coile, the Sword of Truth and Azure Sting entered a warehouse in Atlas Park, following Azure Sting call.
Azure Sting was looking for a man, supposedly a Hellion leader, to interrogate him about future plans of the gang.
During the operation, three containers were discovered, inside which several items, identified as magical artefacts by Azure Sting, were found.
Azure Sting submitted the following plan to the team : Coila, Coile and the Sword of Truth had to stand by the containers, ready to grab the said items at Azure Sting signal.
Azure Sting, on the other hand, was interrogating the Hellion leader.
The writer underlines the strangeness of this situation. Each member of the team was alone, being out of sight of each other.
The writer, while immediately dubious concerning this procedure, notably because of the lack of urgency, accepted to follow it nonetheless.
Shortly before Azure Sting gave the signal, groans were heard on the operationnal communication network. Considering the situation, the writer supposes they were from the man under Azure Sting custody.
However, when the signal came, the team complied, removed the artefacts and exited the place.
In the immediate aftermath, it appeared the Tempest member The Sword of Truth was suffering from a side effect of the magical nature of the artefact she was carrying.
Soon, the Tempest member Coile informed the team about a problem concerning previous deliveries of artefacts, to MAGI offices, by Azure Sting.
It was decided Coile and Azure Sting, carrying all the recovered artefacts, would fly to MAGI offices to sort the problem out.
At that moment, the Tempest member Coila was patrolling the neighboring area.
Then the Silent Tempest communication grid suffered of a massive system failure.
The writer is asking that Steel Guard, who installed the system in the previous days, look at the system and run a complete diagnostic to identify the failure origin.
During almost half an hour, the Silent Tempest members were unable to communicate with each other.
Afterward, neither Coile or Azure Sting answered to the Sword of Truth calls.
The Sword of Truth soon started to look in Atlas Park for Coile and Azure Sting, informing the Tempest member Subaiku of the situation.
It was indeed Subaiku who found Coile, lying in Prometheus Park, barely conscious.
Subaiku was able to find tracks identified as being from a woman leaving the site where Coile was found. Subaiku then followed the tracks tothe best of her abilities.
It will be known later that Subaiku lost the trail when entering Bloody Bay. Subaiku made the conclusion her quarry was lifted by an air transport.
The Sword of Truth was then contacted by the Paragon City Police Department, who told her someone was found dead in the warehouse where the operation against the Hellions happened.
Whiile no confirmation was given at that moment, it is supposed the Hellion leader interrogated by Azure Sting was murdered.
During that time, the Sword of Truth was joined by Coila and the Tempest member Kitia in Prometheus Park.
Despite Kitia best efforts and healing abilities, Coile condition couldn't be improved. It was decided to carry him to the hospital.
The Tempest members Coila, Kitia, Subaiku and the Sword of Truth stayed at the hospital, waiting for Coile condition improvements.
Later, when the medical staff confirmed Coile wasn't danger but still shocked, the Sword of Truth decided to bring Coile at her home on Talos Island, as he was needing a calm place to rest.
Investigations
It is important to notice the operation in the Hellion cache ended in a strange situation, where Azure Sting separated each member and was left alone with the gang leader.
While the situation appeared dubious to the writer, only a vague comment was made at that time.
Immediately after the team exited the place, the writer, again suspicious, asked Azure Sting where the Hellion leader was. Azure Sting replied he was still inside, not making it an important matter but probably hiding the truth the man was dead.
Coile and Azure Sting flew together to MAGI offices. At that moment, Coile was assaulted, most probably with telepathic powers and incapacited, left in the turmoil of his own emotions and memories, reliving painful moments.
Subaiku was only able to track one person leaving. It is then supposed Azure Sting left the place after the attack on Coile.
With those different elements to consider, the writer is seeing two theories :
a/ Azure Sting just fooled the whole team before and since she joined the Silent Tempest, working on her own agenda.
b/ Azure Sting is innocent but is mentally controlled by someone else.
As it was already pointed during that affair, the Silent Tempest is in need of a telepath to root out the truth about that, as many elements are suggesting a telepathic activity.
element of worthy notice
Kitia came back from her meditation place. Her body changed, she is declaring her powers changed too. Apparently, while she is no longer able to use them as efficiently as before, they seem to be more reliable and stable.
Visually, Kitia looks more feline than before. Her attunement to nature is more vivid, according to her wording.
Her personnality doesn't seem to have changed that much, fortunately. The writer, however, reports some difference in personnality quirks.

Azure Sting
Something was wrong with Azure Sting. I was feeling that since a couple of days. The last time she called us, I noticed she seemed to enjoy hitting Hellions. Not fighting. Hitting.
Yesterday, when she announced she was going to interrogate, alone, the gang leader, I started to be suspicious.
The whole thing about the artefacts, which separated us, also sounded curious.
I didn't comment, nor opposed, to that plan. But someone ended murdered.
Now, what is important to know about Azure Sting is to determine if she murdered the Hellion knowingly or if some kind of mental control happened.
Coila
I don't know really how she is. Since her infection with that DNA damaging virus, she's wearing a complete suit her father sent. The suit has an kind of internal watching or healing system, to help her survive, or adapt ?
Coile
I decided to bring Coile at home rather than his own hotel room. I know he's going to hate me because of that but I didn't want to leave him alone after the mental and emotional shock he was suffering.
Currently, he seems happy with that decision. I am not sure it will be the case in the future...
Kitia
Our feline woman appears to live through her changes without too much trouble.
I just wish Coila could spend more time with her, she could probably help Kitia far more than me.
Me
I am exhausted. Not physically but my mind is starting to be close to its breaking point.
From Coila to Kitia, to Coila, to Coile then Kitia, then Coile, and Kitia... I lost the count of the number of emotional crisis.
I cannot help them all by myself...

Case report: Skorpanok.
History: I got contacted voicelessly and asked for Help. Following the feeling,I found Skorpanok in very weak condition so I took him to Hospital. From his ravings it seemed someone had Captured him and done something to him, but he had Escaped.
I got letter later from the Hospital stating Skorpanok had left and asking me to locate him again. I have been catching vague remnants of his scent in Galaxy City in the past days, but never anything solid enough to follow him. There was taste of Blood mixed with with scent, I believe he had been Hunting in the area.
Recent Event: On Wednesday I finally crossed his Trail. I located him and Unarmed him. I was uncertain what to Do with him. Then I received Help request from Sword and decided to leave Skorpanok waiting until I could find Solution what to do with him. He remains Secured in the warehouse area in southern Galaxy City.
Plan: I will try to locate a Mindlistener who can tell me more about Skorpanok. I shall inquire about it at the Statue.

System Report - 00927

I have come across various malfunctions and system errors that seem quite irregular. Some data has been lost and I am attempting to salvage as much as I can. The problem is currently under control and should not escalate into anything major.
I am fairly suspicious of the cause of these problems. It appears that the system has been hacked. I am unsure of who... but I will endeavor to find the culprit. Untill this problem is sorted out I cannot continue the construction of the updated system.
I shall start updating the security protocols so that this type of thing will be prevented in the future.

After reading though Miss Truth's report I believe the best course of action concerning Miss Azure Sting is to apprehend her so she cannot cause any more damage or harm.
Interrogation may be a little too harsh at this stage so I reccommend that she only be taken into custody and psychoanalised. That way we may be able to discover whether or not she has been acting this way by choice or whether she is being forced/controlled by another.

Azure Sting investigations : dead ends
We led an raid against a base of rogue Arachnos elements in Bloody Bay.
Following my investigations in Bloody Bay, where the Tempest member Subaiku lost the tracks of Azure Sting, I discovered Azure Sting was lifted by an hovercraft, explaning the inability of Subaiku to continue the tracking.
Considering the various groups operating in Bloody Bay, I theorized the idea Azure Sting could have hire some former Arachnos or be in league with them, part of a larger scheme.
The raid on the Bloody bay base was sucessful, tactically speaking. However, no evidence of Azure Sting and the rogue Arachnos was found.
There are still a possibility they cooperated but the field troops we interrogated didn't know a lot of their leader's plan, who inexplicably, wasn't here.
Breaking in the base computer network and checking the logisitics didn't help. Datas are inconclusive : Azure Sting may, or many not, have been helped by the local Arachnos.
Rakila, a woman the Tempest member Coile met days ago, went to the Corps to check entries about Azure Sting.
Comment : a task which had in theory to be done by both Coile and Rakila. The writer underlines here the possibility of Rakila report being unreliable. The report proved to be at least partially accurate but the absence of double checking by a Tempest member, about a serious affair involving the Silent Tempest, is not something we should aim to repeat
We got the adress Azure Sting registered at the Corps. We also learned that she didn't work with MAGI, something that was a clear possibility since her disappearance and, with her, the statues she was looking for, fooling the Silent Tempest to help her.
At the registered place, an appartment in Skyway City, we didn't find evidence of recent Azure Sting presence.
However, it now appears the Azure Sting we met isn't, at all, the real Azure Sting but an impersonator. The purpose of the impersonnation isn't clear currently. But it provided a good cover in all cases, whe woman we met loooking very close to the real Azure Sting.
It appeared the appartment was unoccupied during the last three weeks. The missing pet of Azure Sting (a cat, according to various clues in the flat) suggests someone took care of it. Something reinforced by the fact the postal mail since three weeks was piled on a table.
The only possibility is someone friend with Azure Sting got her mail and her pet. It can be a neighbour or a family memner.
More invetigations on this is suggested, as it may clarify if Azure Sting planned to vanish three weeks ago, or if it is a spontaneous behaviour from someone friedly to her, seeing she was missing.
We didn't find any clue helping us to have an idea where Azure Sting fled.
It also appear MAGI was barely starting their own investigations on the statues she got. So, no chance there to guess her next move.

Case report: Skorpanok Part Two.
Date of Events: June 2nd.
I Returned to Skorpanok with Coile and his friend Rakila. He was as Incoherent and Raving as always. He made threats to Kill us all if he were released from his bonds. I wished to find a Telepath who could hear why he had come to Me. Coile headed to the statue, but had no luck. In the meantime, I decided to remove his Helmet, to prepare for the Listening.
At once when the helmet was removed I could Sense him more vividly. There was sharp Spikes in the inside of the helmet, penetrating his scarred skin. I believe the helmet to be Cause of his earlier silence. Now when he was able to talk again, he urged for our Help.
This is his Story: There is two beings in the lizard's body. The raving, dangerous one is in Control of the body, and the other one only able to Silent communication. He believes them to be a Creation. He was inserted into the body and together they would be the first of their Race. There was a disturbance, possibly a malfuntion, and the experiment Escaped.
They were made by Saturn Corps, a secret group aspiring for War. He believes they are Threatening Paragon City but doesn't know what they are about to do, or how to Stop them. However, the Other part of him does. I do not know how to get the other to Break from his raving and fear, he suggested to track down his Past. If we would find out Secret's of his other, we found find Saturn Corp and reveal their Plans.
He pleads for our help. The Saturn Corp will be trying to Locate their experiment and doesn't Care what they must do to achieve it's goals. Neither of them wishes to be Captured again, but the other half believes we are working for Saturn Corp already and it will be difficult to convince him Otherwise. If Saturn Corp is plotting to Destroy Paragon City, we are at best position to Stop this threat.
I hid Skorpanok in the underground tunnels that night. I later met with mr Steel Guard and gave him the helmet for investigation. He also offered to modify our detainment field to hold a prisoner.
Update June 4rd. Skorpanok Transported from underground to the base and placed inside the field. It will be more comfortable holding for him.

Tempest status check 5.6.2006
I'll attempt a summary on the situation.
Coila
Coila has been dealing well with her illness. Stiuation has been stabilized with the suit. A possible cure is under works through our dad's associates. If you can put some stray Vahziloks out of business, do so.
Kitia
Kitia's transformation is still ongoing. Her appearance has become more feline-like ever since we came to Paragon City. I don't think we have seen the end of it. She also seems to spend a lot of time meditating.
Subaiku
Subaiku has been working with the Skorpanok case. We need to divert some of our resources to dig into Saturn Corporation and assist her.
Sword of Truth
Sword has sustained more damage to her left rib section. In team operations I want people pay some attention to enemy movements. Repeated damage on one area can become a permanent injury. Watch each other's backs.
Steel Guard
Steel has been working on the base and modified... something. I was a little distracted while we talked. Something has been converted into a holding cell. We need to either raise funds or ask our father to provide some aid so we can put the base back into shapa and have the cell still operational.
ND-3
Nadia has been out of reach a lot. I suspect there has been some structural damage to her chassis. I guess dad didn't think just how tough a place the city could be. I hope she is operational before soon.
Me
I know I haven't been all together since.. well, you know. Azure Sting. I'm better now. Can't keep a good soldier down and stuff. Thank you for all the help, and Sword for having me over.
Rakila
Some if not most of you have met Rakila. She's a fourteen years old native american girl who has helped us a bit here and there. She needs a place to belong to and it looks like me, Coila and Sword all want to help her. There's a suggestion that Rakila could come to live in base and work for us. Steel could check what she can do with machines - operations and maintanance and stuff. Also, Rakila could very well possess some mind abilities, despite what she herself says. If anyone knows how to test those... Also, if anyone objects to this plan, speak up.
Phaine
This is a girl me and Rakila met a few nights ago. She needs help in training to control her powers. She hurt someone with them. Maybe if Nadia could instruct her like she did us? Also, I want to try and help her, and Rakila too if she lets me after last night.
Azure Sting
It seems there are two. The original Azure Sting hasn't visited her home, we think, in three weeks. The one we met wasn't her, just someone using her looks and name. We need a more thorough check on her than what Hero Corps gave us. Maybe another job for Ghost Tiger Investigations? This is for you all - look into this. Find out useful facts.
If and when we find the one who stole the statues I want everyone to remember that we only arrest them, we don't punish them. Otherwise we become them. Also... I can't be sure of what happened. I remember fingers. I know they are hers, but I don't remember what happened. Just that hey were cold and burning. Don't... don't let her get close.
School
I want to try and help those who don't understand their powers yet. I've so far met Rakila and Phaine. I'll give this some more thought but I think I want to open a small school for people like that. Help them to adjust, and if they later on want, maybe start fighting criminals with the Silent Tempest.
Skorpanok
The man is under confinement. We need to find out what has been done to him and if he can be helped. Add target Saturn Corporation on your watchlist. We'll make a strike when we have enough to go on.

A second breath
I've talked to the girl called Rakila two days ago. The Tempest member Coile proposed some training and led her to the training room.
There, it appears he wanted a combat training but when hit by Rakila, it triggered something in his mind, possibly making him relive the psychic assault he was victim of earlier, from Azure Sting.
The Tempest members Coila and the Sword of Truth finally found Rakila and Coile. The girl was scared to death by Coile reaction who charged her and chased her.
After a lengthy discussion with Rakila, the Sword of Truth explained her point of view to Rakila about the girl situation. With those elements, it then appears Rakila suggested she works for the Silent Tempest in exchange of a shelter and teachings.
This suggestion was accepted by the team leaders, Coile and Coila.
Yesterday, the Tempest members Coila, Coile, Subaiku and the Sword of Truth met a young woman called Phaine, an acquaintance of Coile.
It looks Coile wants to help Phaine to develop and get a mastery over her powers, Phaine herself considering them unreliable and dangerous.
While the writer can't report a clear answer from Phaine, it looked likely the young woman accepted the offer.
Azure Sting
The investigation didn't make any progress.
It looks the Silent Tempest cannot find any clue to understand where Azure Sting fled and what were her true motives.
The writer now suggests to focus on how the real Azure Sting ended being the target of the impersonator. That event is likely to have happen about three weeks ago.
We may be able to find clues about the impersonator by learning what happened to the real Azure Sting at that time.
During the investigation in Bloody Bay, it appears the real Azure Sting had a partner called Highnoon.
The writer suggests to search for that man and interrogate him. He may even become an unexpected ally in this affair.
Element of worthy notice
The writer wants to underline the fact Rakila is 14 years old. It seems she claimed to be 16.
The writer disapproves the idea of a combat training with someone that young.

Personnal log
Rakila
A lost girl. I couldn't just let her go after realizing what is her situation. She's alone, will run out of money soon and so young.
I am happy she came to suggest to work with the Tempest, that's what I wanted.
I am not sure she will really help us in any way, currently. At 14, I don't expect much from her.
After several years, if she's still with us and is willing, she might start to become a real asset. Until then, we will take care of her.
Coile and Coila didn't oppose the idea and they probably have their own reasons to see Rakila around.
Phaine
I just met the woman and barely knows her. Another lost one, sort of. I don't know why Coile wants to help her but that's good.
Kitia
Most of my patrolling time spent with someone of the team is with Kitia. Her confidence in her powers is quickly returning after a time where she was in doubt.
I learned to appreciate having her backing me.
Kitia looked a bit shocked when discovering the nature of the creatures claiming to be the Devouring Earth. She believes those are corrupted creatures, possibly by magic or evil spirits.
She might be right, and indeed I hope she is, but I never found a single clue supporting her view and opinion. No magic, no spirits.
Mother nature couldn't be so destructive ? Well, I hope.
Coile
He feels better. Looks like some days spent at my home truly helped him.
So, it looked as a good idea finally.
Was it ?
Coile suggested he could stay at my home, permanently.
I was ready to dismiss the idea without really giving it a second thought. But I wanted to see why Coile was suggesting that.
He argued staying with me helps him to build his confidence. Maybe because I am stable.
Still, I was decided to refuse when he started to talk about Phaine and Rakila and how he wanted to help them.
So I had to accept. I cannot pretend to support him becoming better, a strong and reliable leader and refusing to help him just after his crisis.
Ona personnal level, I am certain it won't bring any good. On a team level, he is probably right.
Holy Justice... He's going to live at my home.
It was a bad idea after all.

Examination of Skorpanok's Helmet

My studies of the helmet have lead me to the following conclusions:
- The helmet is more than just metal and wires. There is an arcane element to it. As magic is not a specialty of mine I will have to seek further assistance from another.
- The power source energy readings are unstable in the least. However, the containment unit for it is so secure that it would cause minimal problems for the wearer, if any at all. It is unwise to open the unit without specialist equipment.
- The inside of the helmet has three long chips/spikes that either slice into the wearers head or makes the wearing of the helmet extremely uncomftable. My educated guess is that Skorpanok has undergone brain surgery so that the chips/spikes can coalate with the brain itself. The chips/spikes may act as some kind of block that prevents his telepathic communication. Brain surgery is probably the cause of his madness.
- The helmet has a chin guard that acts as protection and a means to keep it in place. It is made from iron and has some padding (Maybe S-Corp do pay some attention to keeping their monstrosity comftable). The guard is not that strong and could be easily broken if pressure was applied to the correct areas. Even though it has obvious weaknesses to its structure, it has obviously done its job so far. The only damage it has is a few rust marks and a minute slice along the side.
Recommendations

After this examination I have come to the conclusion that an arcane study of the helmet components may show their purpose and quite possibly show some signs of S-Corp's nature. For this extra study we will probably need assistance from outside of the Silent Tempest.

Recently I have been quite busy with various jobs for the Silent Tempest and have not been able to interact with them much socially. With the construction of the mainframe and Skorpanok's helmet I have had little time for other things. With the escalating relationship problems within the group it may be best for my sanity that I remain in this perpetual solitude.
I have been asked on several occasions on whether or not I am happy. To be honest I believe I am, mostly. I keep myself busy and enjoy my work. You do not really need other people to be happy. I have lived like this most of my life. My father was similar, even after marriage. I currently see no reason to change my habits and lifestyle for others. I will act when the Silent Tempest ask me, but other than that I will continue to work.
This evening I observed Miss Kitia's current mutation. He DNA suggests that she is becoming more and more cat like in appearance as well as nature. Her whole structure is gradually changing. She seems to be quite comftable with it so far so I see no reason to worry. Her and Miss Coila have changed so much recently. Do they actually know who each other is anymore? I am starting to doubt it.
It has also come to my attention that Mister Coile is now living with Miss Truth. Judging from her body readings during the meeting last night, she is not entirely happy with the situation. Mister Coile on the other hand seems quite happy with it. His fixation with her has gone far into the depths of obsession. This could be quite dangerous for them both.
Regarding the Azure Sting imposter, little has been found out about her whereabouts. She was last seen entering Bloody Bay. Probably escaping to the Rogue Isles. I have had little to do with this, although if asked I will direct my full attention to it and will put my other projects on hold.

Skorpanok
Skorpanok is still held in containment field in our base. His helmet has been examined by Steel Guard bt it has also a mystical element to it. Now the helmet is in possession of an alleged vampire named Akkarin. We sort of just have to wait for him to get back to us on that.
Azure Sting
We met Azure Sting's partner High Noon. The meeting didn't start well but we gained new information. Azure Sting, the real one, had been searching for someone called Lullabye. Lullabye apparently belongs to something called Crown. High Noon knew of two other operatives in there, Post Mortis and Vaportrail. I will talk to High Noon again and interview him further on those. I have also asked our allies in Ghost Tiger Investigations to look into those names. Pyranha took the case. Last night she met with some people, I think, so we'll have to see when we know more.
Rakila
I am personally certain that Rakila possesses some abilities. We'll see if they manifest themselves again. Meanwhile she will work in our base and be trained by Steel Guard.
Phaine
It looks like Phaine is responsible for the deaths of her parents. Last night she killed a Skull right in front of us. After an argument she lashed out at me. I don't know what happened afterwards. Kitia says it wasas if I had been dropped off a building. She healed whatever wounds I had. Now our priority remains fining Phaine and making sure she won't harm others again. She is still a pupil of mine and I will see if I can help her. But I realize she is a danger and she has to be stopped. Be careful with her. She can kill at a distance.
Echo
One of the people we met over at Pocket D last night was a demonic woman who went by the name of Echo. She is by her own words a succubus. I did someresearch. Traditionally sukkubi drain energy through, well, you know. Sex. She says one kiss from her is enough to steal the soul and kill. Might be she was overdramatic, or she might have told the truth. In any case she tried to get me to go with her. Resisting her is not easy, let me tell you. I needed a firm anchor to not just let go. I think she has somemind powers. She was also after Phaine. I think she still is. Another reason to be cautious.
Alliances
I might be mistaken but it sounded like Akkarin was probing waters for a possible alliance between the Silent Tempest and his group the Fletched Alliance. I know nothing of them. We need way more intelligence on them before we can even consider the idea for real, and as said I don't know if there's any interest on their side. We'll see. Meanwhile, try to find out things about them. Membership roster, reputation, structure, agenda. And let's try to do some digging on our own for once, without involving Pyranha, ok?
The school
I have already started some training with Rakila. Phaine is fo rthe moment gone, but I hope to reach her yet. Kitiainformed me of another girl who has been asking about the school. Looks like we're off to a start at least. I will make a public announcement of it sometime soon.
Personal time off
I will be taking a trip maybe soon. Next week perhaps. I want to test my abilities in a new environment. Mountains. I never traveled much as a kid, the trip from North Dakota to Paragon City is the longest I've taken. This morning I went to the library and after some snoopingaround decided to go to Tien Shan. There's one of the most beautiful mountain in the world, Khan Tengri. I will spen a few days there, testing my flight in high altitudes.

Missions for the Silent Tempest
I have compiled a list of things to attend to.
Saturn Corporation
Background: They are by some means responsible for the state of Skorpanok and have most likely created the helmet that he had. The helmet combines technology and mystical elements.
Mission: We need to find out what it is that they do behind the scenes. Affiliations, goals, the works.

Fletched Alliance
Background: They are a group of registered heroes. Their leader Akkarin is looking into Skorpanoks helmet for us. He seemed to probe waters for a coalition between our groups.
Mission: Find out everything. Talk to people, use the net, check the papers. We need membership roster, agenda, general attitude. Strengths and weaknesses. What I especially want to know is if they play it clean. Heroes dont kill.

Phaine
Background: I took her as a student and she was under consideration into the Silent Tempest on the same grounds as Rakila. She assaulted me with her mind powers after killing a Skull member.
Mission: Locate Phaine. Detain her. If it looks plausible, talk to her, meka her stand down and come quietly. If that seems like a bad idea just take her down. She can be dangerous. Dont get killed.

Mindrip and Crown
Background: Azure Sting was following a lead on Lullabye when she went missing. Mindrip impersonated her and stole some relics.
Mission: Capture Ripmind. Free Azure Sting. Coila is drawing a plan along the lines we discussed last night. We will be using a phony company that Steel Guard can provide with legal help from Sword of Truth. Well also see if we can buy Azure Sting back from Crown. It may come to infiltrating the enemy group but that is very risky. But as they are hiring new hands we could get a covert operative in. Telepathic shielding from someone called Telepath was suggested. I hope that the shielding is strong.
Mission: We would benefit from a Crowns base location. Ill ask Pyranha to use her contacts for this.

Requiem
Background: A recording has been delivered to us. Requiem is out to destroy the world, or the universe. Regardless of if he can or cant do it he can still do great damage.
Mission: The Silent Tempest is in on this. I will contact Doctor Temporis and inform him that we are available for the fight.

Khan Tengri
Background: My decision to test my powers in exotic surroundings seems even more sound with the interdimensional nature of our missions against Requiem. Sword will come with me. I, hum, you saw last night that I still tend to react strongly sometimes with things regarding the fake Azure Sting alias Ripmind. Sword will make sure that I dont... that I come back.
Mission: I will go to Tien Shan mountain range and go to Khan Tengri for high altitude testing. Maybe visit Pobeda Peak too, its not far. The trip is likely to take from three to five days.

I will also ask Nut for any directions regarding the flower and if she had anything planned. Those plans will obviously override mine. ))

Silent Tempest status report 26.6.2006
It's been over a week since the last report. A lot of things have happened. The most notable is the passing of the Sword of Truth.
Sword of Truth
I'm going to call her Nadia for most times now. Don't get confused even if me and Coila call our mom Nadia too, for her built code ND-x. I went with Nadia to Tien Shan mountains in Kyrgyzstan to test my powers. We climbed Khan Tengri which is 7010 meters high. From there we flew up a few more kilometers. On our way down we came across a Requiem watch post. They knocked me down and her out. I managed to fight back and invaded their hidden post. There was a trapdoor on the floor but it was boobytrapped.
The explosion caused an avalanche that swept Nadia away. I spent a lot of time searching for her. I couldn't fly at the time so going to get help wasn't an option. When I could I returned to base camp and contacted Hero Corps. They sent their searchers and Kitia through a teleport to look for her. By that time it was already too late. We crisscrossed over the area for three hours but Kitia didn't sense Nadia. As said, she was dead by then. Her body is still somewhere there under the masses of snow. Hero Corps spent two days searching for it and also investigating the Requiem activity in the area. The shaft from the post was caved in as intended. Whatever they found or not they have relayed directly to Doctor Temporis.
Mom went to look for Nadia's body. And also for Kitia, who has apparently also gone missing.
Hero Corps have informed Nadia's law firm. I visited her parents personally. I don't know the arrangements about her apartment. I will keep it up for now.
We held our own memorial already. There's going to be a proper funeral later. I will talk to her parents about that. It might take a long time for the government to declare her dead unless her body is found.
ND-4
I met mom again today. She has undergone a complete chassis overhaul. Her model is now ND-4 and she is very human looking. First such model that father has created to my knowledge. She has been doing some tasks that father gives to her. Now she is at Khan Tengri and said she wouldn't come back until Nadia's body was found. The devastation was enormous. Even if she requires no sleep and temperature is not an issue it can take a long time.
Kitalia and Kitia
In Sword's memorial Steel Guard told us about a girl who looked like Kitia. It seems very likely that the girl in question is Kitalia, Kitia's twin sister who was thought dead along with their mother. It was after that that Kitia moved from desert to next to us. Almost ten years ago. Kitalia has also undergone the same mutation that happened to Kitia recently. She is a cat-like being. Apparently she has worked for Hero Corps for years now.
Kitalia says that she stopped sensing Kitia yesterday. Hero Corps personnel thought she had left for home. Now Kitia has gone missing. Mom is looking for her but I think Kitia just wanted some time off and has somehow masked herself from Kitalia. Unless something alarming comes up I don't see a real cause for worrying just yet.
Coila will call for a background check on Kitalia from Pyranha. She's done good job on those in the past.
Coila
During my absence Coila was abducted right in the middle of Galaxy City by Crown, taken somewhere, the Vahzilok-based virus that she had was removed, she woke up, found the real Azure Sting, busted both of them out and made their way back to Paragon City from Bloody Bay. And there isn't a single report about any of this in our grid. Why?
Crown
There was a huge war effort building at the time I took the time out. What are the current plans? I want Ripmind out of business.
Requiem
He's our top priority. Concentrate on his operations. We don't play at the dimension hopping level like some heavy hitters but when we hit, we too hit hard. Pyranha said she had a lead on one operation and promised to take me along.
Fletched Alliance
Steel Guard provided a report but that's not all that I wanted. I want us to mingle. If we're considering allying us with them I want to know what they are like as persons, so go and mingle. Tug their sleeve and talk. I want to know what sort of people they are. I met Alfred Bester last night and he seemed like a nice guy, eager to help. Deep, too. Now, get to it.

Silent Tempest status report 27.6.2006
Phaine
I met Phaine last night in Pocket D. She goes by her actual name now. Inhilde. She has gone to Rogue Isles. Remember that succubus, Echo? Inhilde thinks her a friend. She kills for Echo. Kills. Pocket D is off-limits but if I see her elsewhere I'll take her in. No one escapes justice. Not even a student of mine. That being said I still consider her my student. I'm not giving up on her. She was worried that she'd damaged me permanently. She has a conscience but she's lost. She can be saved. Somehow I'll do that, and train her like I promised.
Nucliscious
Last night Hero Corps sent to our strike team an addition to tend to the possible damage sustained during the mission.Her codename is Nucliscious, tho I call her Dawn. Easier. She's even more rookie than me and Coila. She didn't know Family, for example. When I took her for a flight to our mission location she actually kept up. She faced a Council warwolf and despite being shaken did her job on the spot. In short I want her in Tempest. Check her out in the coming days and I'm running a background check on her. Unless there're objections I'll give her our broadcast frequency so she can participate easier on possible missions.
Akkarin and Fletched Alliance
I talked to Akkarin last night briefly and confronted him about his intentions. He confirmed he was looking for serious allies. So, it's not a theory any more. It's on the table and we have to react. I was supposed to talk to the man last night more about this but my run-in with Phaine left me a bit stunned. I'll contact him tonight. Whatever we do we'll do it cautiously. I want checks run on all of them before we commit to anything. I think we all agree that Azure Sting taught us a valuable lesson about this. Trust no one at face value alone. Thank the sky goddess Steel Guard was one of the good guys.
Requiem
Our mission last night wasn't a complete success. The man we were after gave us a slip. He was standing right next to a teleport and stepped through the second he got a whiff of things cooking. Personally I could have done better. Aerial attacks. I'm calling for a training session on the Arena this week.
Rikti
Apparently Coila has thrown a weird blue-skinned alien man my way. Thanks sis. He's looking to fight the Rikti. That's good enough in my book. He'll provide me with information about them. I've wanted a piece of them ever since the war. Sword had a grudge against them too. Now it looks like my chances at striking against them increase. If he isn't single-mindedly targeting only Rikti and he checks out in action he might make an addition too. We'll see. Which brings me to the last item.
Decline
People, we're taking a beating. Sword is dead. Phaine defected. Kitia is missing. Mom is rarely ever around and is again out of town. Our numbers are thinning and we botch jobs. Coila was abducted straight from Galaxy Girl statue without people so much as noticing! We targeted Crown for an operation and in less than three days they [censored] one of ours! Does that sound like professional to you? I mean on our side.
There's a homeguard group being pulled together to watch over the city while the big guns go dimension hopping. Consider signing up. Or get onboard one of those actual strike missions like Coila did, and before that Sword and Subaiku. We need to move, the targets won't just come to us, or if they do we'll just get smacked around.
I want allies and I want new blood. We used to be a force. Now we're just sitting put and taking hits.If I don't hear opinions I'll start assuming there aren't any and just start making choices. First of all I'll look into the Fletched Alliance myself and see if they're the right kind. Then I'm inclined to sign up at least Dawn and Kitalia into the team. Maybe also that alien hunter if he has what it takes.
C'mon people, I'm tired of losing and taking losses all the time. Aren't you? Let's pull our act together. Prove me that this is just our team slogan put in action. Silence before the storm.

Silent Tempest status report 28.6.2006
New members
Me and Coila talked and decided to accept three new members into the Silent Tempest. Nucliscious, Kitalia and Star Crusader. All three handled themselves well in a combat situation, seemed fine during the brief interview and their Hero Corps background checks show green. However, that's not good enough. I want a more thorough check done by GTI. Pyranha, this is your ballpark. Coila already commissioned one on Kitalia, now please add Nucliscious to your list. Star Crusader too if you happen to have interstellar contacts.
The new people will have an access to past reports but not yet into the classified sections. Team uniforms should be available today along with communications gear. Tune up on the Tempest frequency.
Inhilde
I met Phaine again last night. It wasn't a clear victory but it doesn't feel like such a defeat either. She's going to stay with Echo and her group. However there's still a bond between us. She is my student and I'm her teacher. She will return one day. I'll see that she does. She'll of course have to face the consequences of her actions but I'll be there to help her through. I'm not giving up on her.
Kitia
Kitalia says that Kitia is alive but something's amiss. She may have gone feral. Kitalia still thinks she's fine for now. I'll take her insight for an action plan for the time being.
The Fletched Alliance
Me and Coila met with Akkarin and Alfred Bester. Alfred can be considered to be an advisor and is together with a woman named Kitmarch, nicknamed Kit. I can see the misunderstandings taking place already... Seconds in the chain of command are Kathena, Veskit and Luminous Phoenix. Steel Guard called them advisors and Alfred a consul. Lets use the terms they themselves use.
They seem eager to form a strong bond with us. In principle that's good. Allies is what we need. However this is no rush job. If we hook up with them in a major way we'll go up in the league. Our targets are mostly street thugs, with Requiem being the exception, but even he is only a man. These guys have taken on Satan. In Hell. I don't know if it was a Satan or the Satan but maybe that doesn't matter. That's the level they play at. While we would gain very powerful allies who could solve some of our cases with ease we'd also bring on us enemies we might not be capable of dealing with.
All that and I want a check made on each member. Pyranha, can you do twenty three on top of new Tempest recruits?
I'm positive about this but I want certainties. A possible rogue member we can deal with, it's an internal issue. Making and breaking alliances is also about the public image. We can't make mistakes there.
Pyranha, it would make sense if Tempest allies worked together as well. If we end up hooking up with these guys, do you think you could prod Zania to talk with them as well? Where is she anyway? I haven't heard from her in ages.

- Skorpanok. We have had him as our guest in the containment field for weeks. How long is this intended to go on? Are there any plans for him? Subaiku, this is for you. Consult Steel Guard and others as needed.
- Kitia. I want a detailed explanation why we shouldn't launch an extensive search for her. Kitialia, this falls on you.
- Rakila's training. Subaiku has been teaching Rakila some combat moves. I'd like to hear a future plan for this. Also, what is the extent of her duties currently in the base? Steel Guard and Subaiku, make a presentation.
- Phaine. I will try to find out more details on her current situation before the meeting.
- ND-4. Mom, if you're receiving, just acknowledge.
- The Rikti. Xan, prepare to tell us in concise form about the current Rikti situation.
- Requiem. I have been unable to get updates from Doctor Temporis. I'll see if I can reach him.
- Coalition with Fletched Alliance. This seems to be all but a done deal. Unless there are problems presented in the meeting we will formalize the union right after our meeting. We also need to settle times for meeting them both to socialize and to practice to combat together. I suggest we meet them over drinks on Tuesday and get a sparring session for Wednesday. Check your schedules.
Other matters and annoucements.
- Absences. I want anyone going about their business for more than three days to announce it to the rest of the team. If there is no notice we will presume trouble and launch a search.
- Assigments. There'll research assigments and others given in the meeting. They will be delivered at a later time for those not present. I expect each assigment completed within the week and report filed by the next meeting the latest.
- Meetings. Meetings will be a weekly feature. On Mondays unless otherwise stated. We should also look into a weekly combat training, with or without our new allies.

Silent Tempest
The Requiem war took its toll, one way or the other. Finally, we didn't get anyone killed, fortunately.
Yet, some things changed. Some didn't.
I was surprised when I learned Steel Guard was actually saddened when I was said dead. I was surprised to learn that Coila was... somewhat... angered, possibly frenzying about my said death.
Finally, Steel Guard is still the same, going back to his habit of criticizing Coile and me. To what purpose exactly ? I cannot tell. He's not going to be happy with any situation anyway.
So, finally, I do expect to see Coila is just going as much as distant as before.
A lot of members are away. Kitia and Rakila, that I miss a lot, the woman called Dawn Perez, who I never met. Phiseeque and actually, even Coila, as elusive as ever.
We got new recruits.
That alien warrior. Fair, I didn't meet him yet. The guy is apparently looking for Dawn.
A strange woman called Dark Rose. Truly, it wasn't fair to ask her to prove her dedication to the team, or loyalty, as Subaiku said. Because we never asked anyone else.
So I asked Dark Rose a question. I disagreed her answer but, actually, in all fairness, I don't expect many people agreeing with me.
Dark Rose is fine, generous. But not the stuff I would like. But actually, who is ? And would I even be, myself, able to practice what I preach ? Yes, probably but it will hurt.
Coile, or Andre
Coile, Andre, of course...
I believe I am accumulating mistakes with him. It's going to snowball into a huge mistake one day.
Yes, it was a mistake to admit I had feelings for him. Yes, it's a bigger mistake to accept him permanently at my... or must I say "our"... home.
The biggest mistake of the moment will happen in the coming days. We're going to meet dad and mom in Atlanta.
Now Andre has a foothold in my life, in my family. I let him enter, I invited him to do so.
Yes, I was happy, despite all the madness of his project to free me, when he ended with me in a Requiem cell. Happy enough to kiss him. Happy enough to admit feelings.
Practice what I preach ? I failed those days.
Since, things are accelerating. People who doesn't get a clue start to meddle with our relationship, like this small green fairie-like guy.
I fear the future with people flocking around us two, creating a more and more complex situation.
I am going to fail, I am going to lose, anyway. That day, Andre... Coile will be shattered.
And it will be my fault.

Dark Rose contacted me. She had met with Coila who behaved strangely. Subaiku has been taken by Circle of Thorns. Tonight at midnight they will do something and place a mage inside Subaiku.

I am on my way back to Paragon City now with Sword. Once there I will remove all Coila's accesses.
Rose said something about the Fletched Alliance, how Coila had named them. Until I get the full story let's keep this between Tempest only.
And try to figure out how long this has been going on? What does she know? How badly are we compromised? Has the base been swept? We took her leader rights away only recently. Where all could a leader put something nasty?

I think I should write a report. I don't feel like it, but it gives me something to do. So I'm writing a report. Been a while since the last one. Lots been going on. I don't suppose this will be a complete check on things taking place. Maybe later. Some day.
I'll use headers. They'll be inaccurate. Things affect things. But you knew that, of course.
Requiem
We got him, in the end. So we kind of won. Go us.
If the Nicti are vindicative on a personal level me and Sword have one or maybe two purple eyed aliens someplace plotting to rip us to bits.
The Doc got back to this time from... well, I guess from some other time. I don't really understand how it works.
In the end I don't know how many we lost. Registered heroes, that is. Civilian casualties were plenty. Each one a failure for us, but let's just be glad that the number wasn't higher.
Sword of Truth
She wan't dead, after all. Somehow she'd fallen into Requiem's hands. Well his men had the outpost out there, and a base. Point is they got her. I know I went to rescue her and it ended up with us getting back. It sounds more heroic than it is. Someone inside helped us and we barely made it away alive. I'll take on an army of Freaks on superadine any day over two ticked off nicti.
Funny, a month ago I didn't even know what a nictus was.
Kitia and Kitalia
They returned too, from wherever it was that they went. Kitia lives for now with me and Sword. Kitalia I haven't yet seen. I'd think she'd report to her team, like, call us or anything. She seemed to be a pro. I hope she's okays. I don't want to lose... anyone. Anymore.
Phiseeque
Phi is back in hospital. She collapsed shortly after getting out. Maybe I should've become a doctor. All I can do is try to prevent people from getting hurt. When they do, I can't do a thing. Not a damn thing...
Circle of Thorns
On my personal target list the Rikti are on the top. Vahziloks made it when they hurt my sister. Hurt Coila. Now... well, Thorns are on it. High. Do they count as humans? I hope not...
Subaiku
Our gypsy member has also had it rough. First she exploded, then Thorns nabbed her. She's fine now, which is good. She's out of town for a while with Steel. They should be back in less than a week.
Dawn, Xan
No reports, no nothing. I guess Xan wants to have something concrete before piping up. I wish they'd both come back.
Other things
In the Requiem aftermath Meadow was nabbed. Now she is back and her eyes are purple. There's some kheldian or nictus or something inside her. No one else seems worried. I guess there's no reason to worry then? Still no one has explained it well enough yet. Maybe we don't need to know then?
We don't do much with our allies. We rarely do co-op. Or talk. Or discuss. Share infos. Is there a point to being allied? That's a topic for discussion.
Coila
Yeah. Coila. My sis. Andrea. I've been now staring at the screen for ten minutes. I so don't want to write this. I don't have much choice, do I? I'd like to tell you all that she's just fine, her injuries were healed, that her soul or mind or whatever makes us us was restored and she's again giving me hard time about things. But, I can't. You see, the mage who had taken over her body said she was gone forever. And there was this truth binding spell so he was telling the truth. I know Sword and Rose both think that he tricked us somehow, that Coila could still be saved. To me it was too graphical or detailed for me to really believe in any chances. And... damn, there are times I don't want to be a leader and make these reports... Andrea's body died last night, sometime around two o'clock. The docs did what they could, but her injuries from the fight... and the MAGI girl said the spell would be taxing... It's all over now. She's dead.
I know people mean well, thinking that hope is good. But sometimes we need to accept also the bad things. Alfred had a few ideas when we thought that Sword had died. It gave me some hope which I ended up resenting. I don't want to chase ghosts and spirits and consider cloned bodies or alternate timeline versions. If it was just that simple we'd be doing it already. I know it sounds horrible, but... let her be dead, now that she is dead. Don't give me false hopes. If you want to chase wisps do it on your own.
I don't think she had many friends. Much like me. She'll be buried back home. I'll have to think about a memorial or something later.

Circle of Thorns
Dark Rose went after these guys and got the daylight beaten out of her. At least she looks like it. Going solo in this is not smart. We need to act as a team. These bastards killed Coila. Call it justice or revenge but we're going to make a dent into their affairs. Someone who knows more, tell me this - are the mages humans? Are they any more, at least? If not, the gloves are off.
Fletched Alliance
Our so-called allies should be treated with suspicion. Meadow has inside her a nictus, maybe a nictus and a peacebringer, which to my limitied knowledge is impossible. The Fletched members don't seem to want to explain the situation. However, Meadow acts hostile and confrontational. I acted rashly a few days ago and now Mephiston is all high-and-mighty and childish about it. It's apparent that whatever their situation is, we are not wanted involved. Until I say otherwise we all steer clear of it.
Alfred was shot last night. Right in front of me. He was rushed to a hospital and the perp was caught. A doc walked from the hospital to the statue to say that Alfred's chances were really slim. Weirdest thing I've ever seen a doc do. Anyway, with Meadow's case it is and has been all along clear how much our participation is needed, expected or wanted. This is their mess. Do not get involved.
Right now the only one of them all that I feel even relatively at ease with is Kitmarch, and, well, that's saying something. Sad to say but our allies don't much feel like allies. Tread carefully.
Crown
We've let this slide for months now. Largely due to me, I admit. I had, well, troubles with dealing Ripmind. And since the real Azure Sting was rescued by Coila... Anyway, it's time to deal with them. And, for once, let's get infos, let's plan, and then let's strike at them. Hard. Silence before the Storm.
Dawn
This is the most urgent item. I was contacted by someone who claims to hold Dawn. I called Xan and he's been in pursuit but all the leads that he has preceed Requiem's fall. Requiem's former troops are in disarray and no one knows much about what the others are doing. They want to bargain, offer her back in exchange of something. We will listen to the offer. Find out what we can. Then get them fast. And I mean fast. There is no plan yet but I'll set the preliminary mission time for tomorrow.
When I went to get Sword back I went alone. The situation warranted it. This time we'll go in as a team, bust heads as long as it takes and we'll get Dawn back. We'll do it all swift, efficient and professional. Again I want us to make a mark. Something that makes the bad guys remember the Silent Tempest. It's just a Council cell. We'll take it out. Shut down its operation. All of them.
I have a new combat suit, for harder fights. Some of it is just cosmetics, some are dad's additions. The original suit was his design. Make whatever preparations you need and get ready for prolonged battle.

I am unclear how many people outside of Tempest would attend a memorial for Coila. I will still hold one in the near future. In the meantime Silent Tempest members will convene to Steel Canyon university park this Tuesday at 9 pm or whenever possible due to our commitments.

Right. I better start keeping a log about things that go bump in the night. I'm not much of a leader if I can't tell what happened when if someone asks.
Let's look at the situation here.
Coila
Coila has been infected with some Vahzilok virus. My own case went away when I got it in one day. Hers is different. She is changing and Kitia said it went deep. Coila looks... hum. Her hair is gone. Skin is dark, blotted with some black stuff. She left on her own but we saw her last night for a second. She came to us but when it got dark she just bolted. I tried to follow her but I think she went into the sewers. Sword has posted a wanted ad, I hope, at Hero Corps. Damn Corp, but I guess we have to work with them. Sword does. I also contracted Ghost Tiger Investigations on Coila. I guess it means basically that redhead, Pyranha. Also, mom delivered some samples from Coila after her infection to dad. He's a robotist but maybe he knows some other science people. Mom said Coila might fear what she could do to us. I guess she meant after dark.
I want her back. I need her back. Even if Im getting into this hero stuff deeper all the time it was her dream to come here and do good. I just tagged along to see her safe. Safe. What a joke. Im supposed to lead and manage a strike force and I cant even protect my own sister. Im not sure I can pull this off for long, not alone. We trained for five years together. She knows me better than anyone, even Kitia.
I fear she might die. Something best not mentioned to Kitia. Ever.
Kitia
Since we got here she's grown cat ears, and now a tail. I mean, what? Like, she's changing. Turning into a cat. And no one gives a flying fig! What's up with that? My ex-gf is mutating into a feline and people just think it's... I dunno, normal I guess. What if she turns into a complete cat? Like, all-fours, eats fish... oh lords and gods, cats clean themselves with their tongue. I so want THAT mental image out of my head! Kitia said when I asked that she was a bit scared too. Good that someone else is too. I dont know how everyone else can be so cool about it. Its so unknown and foreign and just fills me with dread. Kitia is very frantic over Coila. I guess I have to tell her we saw Coila but she slipped away. What will that do? I mean, she has started talking in third person now. She might be snapping. If I brought this up Sword would just shrug. Like, almost nothing seems to move her at all.
ND-3
Mom got back yesterday, Wednesday. Dad had turned her off for two weeks! What's wrong with him!? Why didn't he tell us he had recalled mom? I mean, sure if she needed those mods, especially after that clockwork abduction, but he could have just TOLD us. And I couldn't get him on the phone the whole time either. Like, what's up with that? Mom has never been depowered for that long. I don't like it. First its a whole model revision, then a three week long upgrade and maintenance cycle. And mom was off most of the time. I dont think she knows herself what dad did to her. Oh, Sword remarked how ND-3 behaves differently when dad is connected to her. I hadnt noticed, but mom has had so many personality chips and programmings over the years that Im used to her switching between style modules. Its so good to have mom back with us, I missed her terribly. I need her here especially with Coila gone. Dammit Andrea, come back to us! You know well help you!
Sword of Truth
Oh man, Im so damn lost. I thought Sword said us was never happening and I was like down with it. Cool. Hurt like hell but I was making progress. It was kind of good to be certain. No hope. So, no need to just wait and see, no need to try. Just live my own life and move on. And now she says maybe, if we change. Like, its not certain any more. Its gutting me. I always manage to make her mad whatever I do. I spend time with her I mess up and she gets upset. I stay my distance and she goes on about why I keep away. I cant win in this! Now she thinks what bothers me is her being hurt in her ribs and mentioning it. I guess she doesnt even notice the flirting she does to me. Now what am I supposed to do? Of course I still love her like mad. Its not like it was with Kitia, or Emmily. Definitely not like Emmily. I wish a hit to my head would knock out the memory of being in bed with her. Or maybe Ill just find a telepath to wipe it out... Gah, cant, theyd see the memory then. I just have to live with it I guess.
Sword is so damn beautiful. And she has the same name as mom, Nadia. WHY does everyone insist on teasing and picking on me about every damn thing? Like, its a name. The snide remarks will no doubt turn into some Oedipus jokes, I just know it. Even if mom is a robot and Ill never get together with Sword. Its having worst of the both worlds. Just the [censored] side. And Sword wants me to cut my Mohawk, she hates it. And she tells me to live my life. Hey, like, maybe I am living my life, with my Mohawk, but she just keeps at it. Im so not going to bend over. Not because its so jimmydean to defy her, but I actually like the new haircut. With the new leathers I look positively mean. Its my life, my hair and if she doesnt like, well, not my problem.
I cant believe Sword is scared of me. Like, Im practically the pushover mascot. Maybe shes really in love with me and is scared of herself. Thatd be cool.
Base
No, still can't access the base. There's no physical way to enter it and the portals won't accept me. City hall still blames a clerical error and they are just sitting on their hands. Bureaucrats! On a bright side Steel Guard got the generator rolling late last night. Now we can detach ourselves from the city electric grid and just tap our own, which means we'll start hauling heavy machinery in real soon. Coila still has access to base, of course. Maybe she comes there?
Missions
I helped Sword with some Family things. I have myself been hitting trolls quite hard, both in Skyway and Hollows. I also have some Council commitments over at Striga Island but it's a really tough looking place. Maybe I should ask some help? Oh, I heard some clocks went and busted the King's parts out two nights ago. I bet he's already reassembled somewhere... A lot of good we did...
The Lost. Im so [censored]. Sword took me with her and showed me what they were. I still cant believe it, well, of course I believe what Sword says, but its still a lot to take in. Like, they are human scum who are turning themselves into the Rikti! Rikti! I hate them. I loath them. I will never take a human life but Riktis, Ill kill them without hesitation. It so boils my blood, and I saw it was the same for Sword. She was so furious, so mad. Ive never seen her like it. After we killed one Rikti she started to cry. War memories. I swear if theres ever going to be a new Omega I will be in it. Its my duty, my calling to rid the world of all Riktis! What I dont understand is how come no one isnt worried of these guys! Like, they have portals! What if they can tap back to their origin space? Its a new invasion! And no one cares!
Allies
Last night me and Sword met this nice blue girl from... MAGI I think she was. Azure Sting. All I saw her do was kick hard and the guys went flying. But she has some powers. She said we could discuss those the next we met. She seemed nice. I then hoped I'd run into her again, but it was before I talked with Sword... Oh hell. I dont know what to do. But, in any case, I liked her. She didnt laugh, at least not much, when I kind of botched it with the Warrior bigshot dude. Twice. Man that dude hit hard, my head still hurts. I hope Ill run into Azure maybe at the Galaxy chica. She had beautiful eyes.
Pyranha got back from someplace she was. She never answered when I asked about it. Still, its nice to have her back, I can talk to her about all the [censored] that goes on. Shes always a straightshooter with her feedback, but she never chews at me. Shes now officially with that carrot top, Inago. Im happy for them. They seem to be made for each other. The dude is like sixteen and shes twenty one but hey, Im just nineteen and Sword is like twenty six. She could be even forty six and I wouldnt mind.
I need to start to look for the those other suitable groups to ally ourselves with. Propose alliances. I guess Im finally coming to terms of being in here, being a so called hero and having a group. Time to make the most of it, form ties, gain allies and start gunning for the bigger fish. Just wish I knew where to start.
Hmm, reading back this journal thingy has some nice points in it. Ill just remove all the personal stuff, condense the important bits and send that to the team. Label it something like Memo from your esteemed leader or Boss talks. Something that has authority ring to it. Make it real professional a weekly feature. Yeah!. Guess Ill do that tomorrow, though. Time to go see whos out there.
