Claws/Energy Knockbacker
Some thoughts on EA slotting.
I can't think of a different way to slot the three shields.
I've slotted hide with three def buffs and no end red. I quite like how difficult to hit I am when I'm hidden. The defence in hide against aoe's helps a lot with this.
For the test event in RV I've slotted overload with 3 x recred, 1 x def buff & 2 x heal. I'm finding that there's not a lot that can hit me through that at the moment (of course I never remember to turn other shields off when overloading, but that doesn't bring endurance problems either. Extra hit points from the dull pain style boost of overload makes me worry less about not maxing the defence.
During the new test event I'm using an 'experimental' build without stamina. So far I'm finding that I'm surviving well with using energy drain and occasional use of Conserve Power (however I keep forgetting to use CP). The only time I have slight problems is when travelling as I use teleport. I'm probably going to find that in bigger zones this is going to be a problem.
I've specced in repulse but haven't found a way of using it effectively yet. This may have been because everyone I went up against last night was either a scrapper or a tanker and they didn't seem to be affected by Repulse. It may be that my endurance management might be ruined by repulse.
I actually rolled this one up at the RV event, and well... it was one of the worst builds I tried. (even better than my Empathy Offender, which I might end up making )
I think I simply must yield to the fact that stalkers have no way of working beyond the basic concept of "BU, AS, Placate, Crit." I'm quite sad about that - every other archtype offers some flexibility, but as of yet, I'm unable to see that in a stalker.

i tried a whole new play style on the RV test and i spent about 80% of the time out of hide and it really opened my eyes.
I went spines/dark and i could stand toe to toe with invul tanks and win and only really had to use AS when the bigger boys came out.
I think claws/spines is the way to go as it will have most blasters crying because they can't kite you from midair and they just can't get in melee range to hit you with BU+Aim+TF or another such combo.
I got alot of blasters this way
As for your build just remember that its only AT's like blasters/trollers who won't have KB protection.
Defiant's GoEH/MILITIS METUS

Although I preferred ASing, I could kill squishies from safe distance by peppering them with focus too

Yup, BU + Focus and I'd do a running jump over the squishies, mostly the bubblers.
After listening to the endless battle of "Stalkers are overpowered with stacked Stealth + Hide" and "Everyone is overpowered now that they can see past stacked Stealth + Hide" still going on, I decided to roll a Stalker.
I was originally trying to move away from the standard archtype cliches, to a completely different approach, but Stalkers are damn hard to customize. You just can't step outside the basic box of strengths - Hide, Build-Up, AS and Placate, so I gave up trying and included them to the build.
This is technically more a PvP than a PvE build. What I'm trying to do is get rid of the mandatory stacked Hide + Stealth, as it has caused stacked perception to rise to unforeseen heights. To such levels that in the end it doesn't really matter that much if you have just hide or hide + stealth, you'll be seen anyways. Naturally the build has weaknesses - I'm actually trying to explore here if stacked knockback would be a valid option for PvP stalking, overpowering Acrobatics that many squishies these days have. I'm not even trying to go against Tankers in Granite or other insane stuff, sticking to squishies.

For PPP I'm taking Black Scorpion for added Knockback fun, plus the Web Grenade v. 2 it has is nothing to be scoffed at. Not sure if I'm taking all the powers in the pool or not, that's something that I'll decide as I've seen more of the stuff in action on Live servers (since this chara will never hit 40 by I7)
Also I might switch Combat Jumping + Superjump to Air Superiority (or Hover) + Flight and move slots from Hurdle and Combat Jumping to them, but that's still speculation as the character is lv 4 at the moment.
Those who have experience in either Claws or Energy Aura for a stalker can probably provide me with valuable information on how to slot stuff and if I should change something for something else.
