what am i missing?
Once you get build up, (or similar), and placate then the running becomes a lot less.
Once you can do build up > AS > [Scrap] > Placate > AS then you can start cutting through three-man mobs quickly.
i'll stick it out for a couple more levels and try those out then, cheers =]
The manual is mixed up imo. It says Stalkers are good for beginners to the game, and are great for soloing. My Stalker (now lvl 33) is by far the hardest character to play that I have ever made, and he is terrible at soloing. I don't really PvE with him anymore, just hang around in Sirens, where they really come into their own.
there is not one way to play a stalker. the hit and run trick is for hit and run optimized build of for if you did not take any secondary power pool to backup you.
i personnaly play it as a scrapper.
i AS the first one then use my move to fight bu t being at melee range only when I attack.
i took a heal for surviving and and a fear to immo some annoying mob.
moreover a lot of stalker don't slot their defensiv power so it's why the rehiding time is so long as you get it by everything. i can stay a while in small group without being hitted as i put 3 defense in all my shield.
i've spent today trying out the stalker archtype and i have to say i'm less than impressed - i've been told that the key is to employ hit and run tactics, otherwise once your opening critical is out of the way you're just a slightly easier to kill version of the brute
my problem is that in the time it takes to run out of sight, rehide and then actually get the first strike off (assuming the mob doesn't go around your cover wide and get a shot at you or whatever) i could just stand still and get 2 or 3 hits in anyway, thus negating the point of the critical (although i suppose i take slightly less damage with hit and run, assuming i don't get shot in the back)
so what's the big secret to making this character work?
