Learn about agro..fast
And one thing: If you do any AOEs on a crowd before your team has engaged them...you will be hurt a lot

not too sure about the sonics but i can give you a few tips on the devices secondary,

Get targeting dorne as soon as you can and then 3 slot it with acc buff enhancements. this power is one of devices real pluses as it effectively means that none of your attacks will need an accuracy enhancement in them.

Caltrops, some people will skip this power as it does really puny damage, however damage isn't the point of this power, 3 slotted with Slow enhancements this power is great for giving a blaster some soft control. Throw caltrops onto a group and they will very very slowly start to try to run away, this can keep them grouped long enough for you to finish them with AOE's (not really sure what the sonic set is like for this actually) alternatively you can through a patch in front of you before you open up on a group and it will give you extra time as the enemy very slowly tries to get into melee range.

Cloaking device, i wouldn't add any slots to this but it gives you a nice stealth option for sizing up a group when soloing.

Trip mines, these are great for surprising the enemy, i slot mine with 3 damage and 2 recharge reduction enhancements. If you find a group of bad guys around a corner from you, set up 3 or 4 mines and then lob some caltrops on them. Then fire an attack at the group and retreat behind the corner. The enemy will chase you round the corner and straight onto your mines and Bang! dead bad guy

I don't really use many of the other devices powers myself these seem to be the winners to me.

This is my experience from playing and i'm sure other can give you a different opinion. but feel free to hunt me down in game if you ant any advice or a demonstration

thx for replies guys. epsp.ly the one on devices secondary

didnt realise that cloaking device is part of the device range. Does have CD make taking Stealth from the pools not necessary? or do the 2 stack up??

Alos - does slotting targetting device enough - or does furhter 1-slot in each primary still necessary?

Thx once again

well i've never found i need stealth on top but i'm not sure if they do stack.

3 slotted targetting drone is fine if you are fighting up to orange conning mobs but if you want to fight a lot of purples an extra acc enhancement in your attacks wouldn't hurt

I play a level 50 Sonic Blaster and I like it. Although it is nice power to have (huge knockback), I skipped Shockwave. The other powers are all in my set. Sonic alone is no damage king (other than Shout the attacks do average damage), but it gets the job done and the -res debuff works well for your entire team. I'm not sure about the exact numbers, but the debuff brings approx. 10%-15% more damage whenever someone hits a "soniced" target. The smaller the attack is, the faster the debuff wears off. So try to use Shout and Screech for debuffing purpose. Sirens Song is a wide-ranged sleep cone, which is good for doing solo missions.

Accuracy for various slottings from this thread .

Against white, yellow, orange, red, purple, purple+1
0 +1 +2 +3 +4 +5
95 90 82 73 64 54 - 1 slotted attack for Acc ( SO )
95 91 84 78 71 64 - 3 slot I6 drone ( SO )
95 95 95 91 80 68 - 2 slotted attack for Acc ( SO )
95 95 95 95 95 86 - 1 slotted attack 3 slotted I6 drone ( SO )

So basically 3 slotted Targetting drone is better than 1 ACC in all powers.

PvP is approximately the same as fighting purples ( +4 ).

@Unthing ... Mostly on Union.

thx for replies guys. real food for thought....

sonic/devices going well so far - up to lvl 14 now I definately see a differenc ein damage output already. Although I really come into my own in a team!! Esp.ly with the sonics debuffs.
