The 'could' meant that they could in the past. These days they do need an empath backup.

What you said in the first place was irrelevent, nobody said that anybody can tank Hami, it was only said that they could, which is a fact. What you said was pretty pointless because no-one can tank hami solo and nobody said that they can.
