I suggest you point people to Master Zaprobo's excellent Sticky at the top 
The pet emote thing is easy enough though, just type:
/petsayall <em dance>
to get all of them to dance, replace dance with whatever emote you want And you do need the < >'s.
or for single pets, target them and use /petsay as above...

Also for binds, you can use /petsay_name (Minion Name) <em dance> to select single minions too
And the <> are important, you need to include them. They're not just there to show you where to place the em dance bit
I know that some people have been caught out by that one.
