stone/ice need advice!
First thing you probably need to decide is if you want to go perma-granite or not. If you do go the GA route I suspect that without hasten, with few atacks and no recred in taunt you might struggle to do damage or hold aggro. If you decide to use the other armours I think you will struggle to be able to take a hit or herd a room full of bosses. Ice patch would help a lot but you left that to level 49.
Frozen aura might be a bit pointless if you are running mud pots at the same time. There are also a few slotting suggestions I would make (like how many heals to put into rooted or how many endred in each armour) but I think your powers need to be tweaked a bit first and then we can give some advice on slots.

aright, firstly i would like to say that i dont want to be perma-granite, only use it if its needed (large groups, AV, panic button ect.) and now, the tweaked version..

I would go for the Pyre Mastery route, that's the ultimate taunting power, with that and taunt you can grab aggro off anything...
After I got fireball I see no other options for a tanker that wants to be defense based and aims to keep the team alive.
You could go for a more damagin build with conserve power to land more attacks but if you want to just grab aggro, Pyre Mastery is the only choice.
If you want to avoid using granite a lot you'll need to take advantage of the powers you have. I have all the armours plus Tough and I still need to use Fault and Tremor a lot to keep the mobs off their feet. In your case you'll be using ice patch for that so I would be tempted to take it as early as possible.
The slowing affect of your powers will also reduce the damage you are taking so take that into account. A power like Frost will be handy to a)get aggro and cause damage and b)slow a fair few mobs down. Consider adding some slots to extend it's range etc.. and maybe take it earlier? Of course I know nothing about ice melee so someone else may tell you it's a rubbish attack (the range does seem very short).
You might want to think about taking some powers later on. You only have one attack in the early levels so hasten will be of limited use (good for earths embrace tho I guess). Armours like brimstone or crystal are only useful in some situations whereas you might be better with a more general power like Frost which could be used in every fight. Minerals is not needed til almost the 40s in most cases so that could be taken later if you need to make room for things.
Like I said tho, I don't know much about ice melee so you might be better of getting advice from Tundra who I believe is stone/ice.
id take ice patch as soon as you can and i agree with fire mastery, it also gives good damage
ice patch at 20!
it stops a lot of incoming damage and may make you more versatile/less dependant on granite
alright alright... ive tweaked it a bit more then, hope ya like it.. its now put with the current build on my tank who is level 14 so dont say anything, at all, about the travel power problem!

I dont know much about tankers, mine is only lvl 22, but he is fire/ice.
The reason for the combo is that ice doesnt do much aoe damage whereas fire primary does with burn and blazing aura.
I got ice patch at lvl 20 and the difference it made was amazing.
It was always my intention to use the burn/ice patch combo and i am not disappointed, Finally i feel like a tank in that ice patch prevents mobs from hitting me most of the time, and with only 1 recharge is pretty much ready to fire when the last one has melted.
I would agree, take ice patch ASAP, it is the best power in the ice melee set IMHO.
Well, it's a while since I levelled Tundra, but from my experience...
Ice Patch is invaluable. It's far more use to you defensively than Brimstone, Crystal or Minerals, so I'd take it before them - the only exception being if you plan to do the Synapse TF, you need Crystal for that. Given the choice, I'd try to fit Swift and Health in before 20 and put Stamina off to 22 so you can pick up Ice Patch as soon as it's available. The reason for picking Ice Melee, normally, is extra defense and control - Ice Patch is the key power for that, and you won't regret taking it.
Personally I'd put a couple more Taunts in Mud Pots - it'll keep you Taunting when you're slowed down by Granite.
A third Heal in Rooted gives more regen than the third heal in Health, so I'd either swap them or better yet have three in both.
The recharge on Earth's Embrace is long enough to justify more than one recharge - all those extra HP are too good to miss out on.
Expect to be disappointed in Ice Sword, and more disappointed in Greater Ice Sword - if you want to deal out damage Ice melee isn't really the place to be as the damage is low and these two don't offer anything usefull in addition to their mediocre damage. Freezing Touch, OTOH, is a great attack - respectable damage and even better a hold.
Epics are a matter of taste, of course, but since it would fit your theme I will just point out that Arctic Mastery synergises very well. An extra hold means you can lock down bosses with ease, Ice Bolt is my most damaging single-target attack and much quicker than anything in Ice Melee and best of all Ice Storm synergises wonderfully with Mud Pots as the Immobilise stops minions running out of the storm - since I can also Hold a coupl of Lt's or a boss that's a whole lot of AoE hurt (well, for a Stone/Ice tank, anyway... it's still no Nova). Really looking forward to it becoming buffable by Build Up etc.

Are you going to be happy with Frozen Fists and Brawl, along with the minimal ticks of Mudpots, all the way to 28?
I'd take Frost early - it's one of the best attacks in the Ice Melee set.
Oh, and unless you're planning on dropping multiple Ice Patches in different places (which can be handy, I admit), one RecRed SO will have it ready just before the previous one runs out.
Other than that, looks good to me, but I'm no expert on Stone/* builds.
I would suggest not putting 3 end. red in the armours, the 3rd will not make that much difference. They will be better put as end. reduction in the attacks. Also consider putting recharge in attacks for if you are in granite.
I have an inv./ice melee tanker & agree ice patch at 20 is way to go.

This is very true, an excellent wide cone attack which works very well with you being in the middle of big groups a lot of the time. I didn't mention it before because it was in at level 10 in the previous build

looking at your build again, I'd fit it in by swapping it (or roughly, given levels when things are available) with Stone Skin, which is really only helpful for capping the S/L resist of Granite.

Looks good to me. A word of warning about Super Speed - put it somewhere you won't click on it by accident. The instant you activate it, it will drop both Granite and Rooted. This can be either useful or fatal depending on the situation and GA has quite a long recharge on it for a defensive toggle. Well worth having for getting around, though.
Your End reducers look about right for the early game, but you'll probably find you can use the slots for other things post-Stamina.
It's very difficult to comment on a 1-50 build for a Stone Tank because so much changes as the game progresses - my build was based around a planned respec at 32, and if I was starting again now it still would be. Reasons for this include... Teleport is almost vital for getting around in combat later in the game, but is very difficult to use for travel pre-Stamina. Brimstone and Crystal are useful in the 20's, less so afterwards.
See how the game treats you, but the only time I ever longed for Brimstone Armour was during the first respec trial with all the Jumpbot Incinerators that involves. Outside that there just wasn't enough Fire/Cold damage to justify it as a power selection for me. Since you're not perma-Granite, though, you'll need it for CoT, Nemesis etc. as late game Fire attacks are rather damaging.

righty, i am goint to post a build for my character salvager who is stone/ice, all i want to do is be able to take hits and still be standing, i want to be able to herd a room with bosses, i wanna be able to take the brunt of an AV attack ect. but i also want to hit back, heres what ive come up with but comments on how it could be tweaked to being able to take a hit and deal it would be greatly appreciated.
