Not a bad idea... Give it a go!!
I like to do missions both IC and OOC... OOC tend to go quicker, but once in a while, RPing a mission can be great fun too! 
Though... Getting it known could be a problem. Ask those Evolution Radio chaps to throw an ad out every once in a while for you! Maybe the occaisional add on arena chat (Hey, the Evo Radio guys do it! 
)

Sounds a really good idea.
The only problem is the 5 channel limit. We use 2 channels in our supergroup (one for OOC, one for the group Radio), I have a Global friends channels, and theres GGOOC, which doesn't leave much.
I wouldn't be surprised if other players had a similar number of channels, but If they are anything like me a good RP looking for group system would be very much appreciated.
You use two Global Channels for your SG? Why not use the SG Channel instead?

With the Cirque we have two channels, the normal SG channel, and the global channel, both are IC ((though is used for OOC aswell))

If you have nothing useful to say, you have two choices: Say something useless or stay quiet.
Why, though? Surely you can just use brackets for OOC, or if you really need to, rule that one channel is strictly IC and the other is strictly OOC. Just seems like a waste to have two channels for the one SG, especially since different alts may be in different SGs, which would possibly take up more Glocal chat slots.
We have a cirque GC channel so that we can still get hold of people IC when they're playing their alts. Any OOC stuff is dealt with in (( )). And that usually get's Zero moaning...
This is done because, IC, the SG chat is a mental link shared between all members of the Cirque (for communication only). So it makes sense that we can still contact each other even if the player is on an alt that's not in the Cirque.
Using two GC channels for an SG though, is just overkill IMO!

I'd have done that exactly the other way around. If you're going to have a GC channel for an SG, it should be OOC. It's connecting the players, not the characters who are actually in the SG.
If you want to run something IC over it, then you mark those conversations as being IC.
That's just my thought on it though. And I also think two channels is overkill, especially when there's a limit to the number you can join. I suspect SGs that do that don't have many members with a lot of active alts.

Early in the morning, so I'm just throwing out a sleep-dazed question.
Would it be useful to have a chat channel, say "IC_Recruitment" or something along those lines, for getting together pick-up teams of roleplayers?
I mean, sometimes you want to play the game IC, but to roleplay or stay IC on a pick-up team ... well, I can't do it, at least. When nobody else on the team is roleplaying I just feel silly doing so, and trying to put "IC" or "RPer" in the search comment just gets you a lot of questions about what that means.
It might be nice to have a place to go recruit people that are at least "RP biased." Of course, it might not be practically possible to get people to use such a channel in the first place.
So, for those who're more awake than I am -- what do you think?
