Well, I'm very fond of Master Zaprobo's mad scientist vibe - he couldn't punch his way out of a wet paper bag, but can certainly construct a laser wielding robot to do it for him!
Other than that, I'm runnig two killer robots and one Praetorian Earth version of my CoH Hero.
I would reccomend a Robotics/* Mastermind though - and if you do him in a scientist style I'd love to see you over in Arachnos Research and Development 
A stalker
As you state a dislike for them you should at least give the AT a go and discover its weaknesses for yourself. Its also a surgical strike AT as opposed to just wading in so the intelligence aspect is there. As for being weak my stalker has no defence but hide (specific build) but does well enough

I may do a mastermind, I made one on the beta servers but the game time ran out before I could properly test it. I also had a corrupter, but learning from past experiences with a blaster, it wasn't very interesting. so yeah, Mastermind is on the top of my list, then maybe a brute, that might have a good thing to it.
the trip to the mall for today was called off and shifted to next week. so theres a longer time to pitch in ideas. 
What kind of concept do you have? The Dr Evil type has Mastermind written all over it, Stalkers are close to assasins, Dominators are a twisted type of controller, Brutes are just that & the damage they do can be just breathtaking as the rage builds, Corruptors can be the backbone of a team with their Buffs/Debuffs. The possibilties are endless! Enjoy!

ok, I've decided to go for Master Mind. now, I can do the costume for myself, it's just the name, powers and origin to think of. 
Give a backstory, or a description of the character you have in mind or even a screenshot of the character you're going to create!
I say make a HUGE, put on armor on him, so you can predent that there is a small man inside that big robot/armor (exoskeleton)
Then take whatever proff hurts a lot, dont worry, its your armor taking dmg not you
all right, heres the back story:
Rony Carmen was Legend City's best scientist, and was good friends with General Jennings, head of the hero's association. however, when the general died during Acenra's absence for training, he blamed the boy for leaving his post. he developed robotic armies and pwerful weapons beyond the reach of humanity. and then, december 2006, unleashed them in a rampage. however, even though he killed one of the four remaining heroes and made two others flee. Acenra had met shoadow before the rampage reached him and chased after the fleeing demon without noticing the rampage. when the maniacal scientist caught wind of this, he followed Acenra to paragon city, but was jailed. he was then broken free by arachnos and made to develop astounding robotics. however, rony didn't like being pushed around, so started a plan to take control of Arachnos. 
there, so by my back story hehas robotics and assualt rifle. just the name to deal with.
Looks like you have an inventor type on your hands so go for Robotics/Traps Mastermind.
As for a name, how about going for a title-based one. Doctor, Professor, Dr, Prof, or even military titles as you mention military - General, Commander, Lieutentant...
Then comedy (a la General Mayhem) or serious (Professor Carmen)? Did he take on a "villain name"?
I would recommend Dr Carmen or Professor Carmen. Why be overtly villainous when you let the lasers do the talking?
good point. he did take up a villain name. I'm not sure what though, maybe Dr. Rapid fire, or has tht been taken?

Sub-note. this is not Acenra's arch-enemy. quiet frankly, I don't think Acenra has ever met him. Acenra's list if enemies goes on forever but I dont want to make them, incase of roleplay purposes.

I'm a little mad now
my dad had just recently told me that I can't get CoV until I do a weeks worth of Revision. Fair play to him but I don't see why I can't get the game
you see, in my house, you have to do 2 hours worth of revision a day excluding weekends where you have to do 1. so when I get home the priorities are like this
1. homework
2. revision
3. shower
4. anything else before tea
5. tea
6. anything else before bed
7. bed
now I dont see why I can't play my game after my revision.
still, he is worried about my GCSEs and all that, so I appreciate him for that.
so, unless my mother argues for my side, I'm keeping any more suggestions availible for my second character for another week or so before I have the means to get the game.

I'm not one to be evil, heck I even got a sword in my room called the demon slayer for reasons of justice (yes, I know, I am sad) so this is where I need your help.
I'm not hiding the fact that I dislike stalkers, because I keep getting killed by them.
so I'm looking for a villain that best fits me and my personality, which is that I'm intellegent yet occasionally goofy, but I always stick to the matter at hand. and physically, I'm weak. so yeah, class nerd becomes villain and is usually scared to try new things.
seeing as I might get the game today, what klind of villain do you think I should be?
