Kinetic is a great secondary. A little tricky to play effectively with energy (your primary knocks them away, your secondary needs them in close to work).
There should be a number of guides available. You may also be able to get away with just hover - 3 slot for speed and slot up siphon speed as well... one of the nice things about kinetics.

I have a level 10 corruptor that has energy / Kinetic. Have a got hover and am looking at getting fly. Was this a good choice for a first corruptor? Before this I got as far as a level 10 Brute and got bored with the smash things bit.
