New player in search of CoV RP wisdom
Unfortunately, Roleplay in CoV is a little scarce on the ground; it just hasn't really had time to establish itself that well. A few people have tried to initiate something, but haven't had much luck. For any consistant Roleplay, you're best off trying to find a Supergroup you get on with, or - alternatively - try to arrange something over the "Union Roleplay CoV" global chat channel.
As for your second question....well, in my experience a lot - if not all - people have played along to a certain extent. While you'll always get people that don't Roleplay - and, to be quite frank, nobody's in any position to demand they do so in the first place - I've yet to see any outright hostilities from them, and some even try to get involved themselves.
At the moment, I wouldn't advise you to devote too much energy to trying find Roleplay. Give it some time, build up a network of friends, and go from there.
On the Heroes side of things, there is a nightly RP meeting at the Galaxy Girl statue in Galaxy City from 9pm onwards (Behind the large building with the trainer in front)
It's not to everyone's taste, but feel free to come along and join in
Especially not for me, as Im a villains side of guy, atleast to begin with. :> But I'll try to just RP in general and see how much people play along. After a very brief test, Im feeling optimistic.
Hello. I just started with City of Villains (haven't played CoH before either) and would like to ask some newbie questions about RPing in this game.
There's bound to be some around, as we have this section here on the official forums and all, but how active is the scene in-game? My previous experience about RPing in MMORPGs comes from WoW where RPing does happen.. occasionally, when people ain't grinding orange cave or reputation or something, so Im trying to map the RP possibilities of CoV a bit now. I've seen some threads about some great big meetingplaces for roleplayers in CoV, but so far haven't really managed to find out where these places could be and how high level you need to reach them. Could someone point out some tips where villains go to loiter and pass the time when they ain't beating good-doers, if such places exist?
Also I would like to ask about the general attitude towards roleplayers. If I try to RP to some generic persons I run across in the game, will I be more likely to be ridiculed or RPed with? I've only seen the first 10 levels of the game and the speed has been that hectic that I haven't really had even time to think about RPing yet, but I would like to get to know that side of the game too. Preferably sooner than later.
So if you happen to have any tips or hints that you think would help a total CoV newbie to find some nice RP in this game, please reply to this thread
