Dark Servant queries
He's a pet and not a henchman - you can't command him and he'll only stay near you. Get into the thick of things to see him actually do something
OK thanks for that, I figured it was a bit like that,....sorta defeats the purpose of being a MM though?
That's why he's a pet from your secondary and not the primary - think of him as a personal bodyguard incase any of the plebs get too close!
Dark servant cycles through several powers once in range: T. Tentacles, Pet.Gaze, Darkest Night and Twilight Grasp. He also has a low damage/-acc aura around him called Chill of the Night.
All of the powers except Pet. Gaze do -acc so it's well worth slotting him with ToHit DeBuffs.

Cool, thanks for that
I should have 4 slots to fill for him tonight, I have his first on fast recharge, any suggestions on the other three, the recharge leaves me with a 3 min gap after his demise, before I can resummon, so I can live with that. Is accuracy/damage of any use, or should I fill with the TH Debuffs?
Thanks again
I'd go with -accs as your first priority. Fluffy can stick out a lot of debuff. Accuracy is nice if you can afford a slot. You can't actually slot for damage, which is ok, as I don't think I have ever seen a Fluffy actually kill anything by themselves.
One of the best ways to use them is to actually summon them in the middle of a group of enemies. This means everything is in range of Chill of the Night (which is a very good debuff), and increases the chance of fluffy getting slightly damaged, which is good, because he only uses Twilight Grasp when he is hurt.

Now that is cool!!! Never woulda thunk of that
Thanks
I play really offensively with my MM and tend to get into the thick of things a lot. I think slotting him is dependant upon play style, personally i slotted him with 3xrecharge and 3xheal. When stacked with my area heal between us we cna heal for about 1000health so its all good for playing fast :P
Yeah I can see how effective that would be, I was in a team last night, taking the advice above, we arrived in a "Boss Chamber", there were about 5 Red Con mobs and I cast the DS into the middle of them, sent in the Zoms/Brutes etc and there were no deaths and nearly continuous heals going on, Yep DS was really worth waiting for
Thanks
To my mind DS (Bob) is one of the most powerful pets in either CoH or CoV. He is a total debuff machine! My advice on slotting him is 1 Recharge, 1 Acc, 3 to Hit Debuff and a heal if you can spare it. As a MM he is a very situational pet, due to reduced summoned time, but his Debuffs can change the course of a battle. As soon as I 32 on my D3(Now a D4) it made soloing a doddle, even on Inv. (Granted it's a long drawn out process in taking down the mobs, but it's do-able. How many other Defenders can Solo inv at 32?)
Take Bob, use Bob, slot Bob, love Bob!

Anyone know what the DS actually does?
I got mine tonight and not too sure how to use or slot it.
When I send my other pets in to attack, they seek mobs pretty aggressivly, but the DS seems to stand beside me all the time, does he need a certain proximity to mobs before he attacks automaticaly or something?
He seems to have a group heal spell, but tbh only uses it sporadically and probably when not even needed, should I have chosen a different skill instead or am I misunderstanding the skill Dark Servant, and not appreciating how UBER DS really is? :P
Any advice welcome
