Holy Holy Holy is the Lord of Hosts the Seraphims chanted at the throne of God. Rahiel looked over at Husiel, his face covered by his wings as opposed to, his feet wrapped with his other wings and hovering above the shining white marble floor with the last two. He turned his head to Orius, her song as intoxicating as the summer morning breeze over the mountains of Earth, her hair so bright and wonderful to gaze upon as humans would gaze upon a hoard of treasure, her movement was even more graceful than a pack of gazelles striding over the savannah, she was the epitome of beauty.
The music passed into the void, silence gathered in the throne room as the Seraphims ended their praise, for now. Rahiel unfolded his wings and descended down upon the floor, now he was to go and sit by the throne and await the new souls that were to enter Heaven. He drew his sword and placed it in front of him, raised his wings up two above his head, two out to the side and two wrapped his feet. Orius stood by his side as always as the first souls started to enter the hall.
One by one they were sorted into their respective places, but Rahiel didnt think to look upon them, as he had seen them all before, they all looked the same, small, insignificant, almost puny.
A Cherub, Joili, stood up from besides the throne where they continue to praise God, she went over to Rahiel and spoke: Rahiel, God wishes for you to gather a lost soul, it havent come as foretold. Without hesitation Rahiel spread his wings and flew with great speed to the exit. Exiting the gates of Gods Hall, he saw the sun caressing the white marble buildings that covered the domain of Heaven, he saw the people wandering about as innocent sheep in Gods domain just waiting for the end of time, but they were happy.
He exited trough the gateway and appeared just a few hundred miles above Earth, what a beautiful sight, he stopped to gaze upon the wonder that God created many million years ago, had it really been that long? He knew it had been long since he had had the pleasure of gaining access to an assignment to Earth, but then again, God doesnt listen to the humans anymore.
Rahiel located the problem, in Paragon City, a soul was being held back by some sort of contraption, he flew in to investigate. Entering the big city, he flew over a monument of some sort, a man carrying the Earth on his back, apparently a significant glorification of another person, another God? If so, that would be against Gods will, but did he even care anymore, all he did was take the souls in and let them regain some false image of being alive, alive Rahiel didnt feel alive, all but in two instances, when looking upon Orius and when gazing down upon Earth in all its glory, it should be his.
As he came closer, the immediate problem became obvious, the Circle of Thorns, again they try to manipulate the cosmos and change the fate of many, this could not happen, at least not to this soul, so was Gods command and it must be followed without questioning, just as the time where Rahiel was sent to destroy Babylons walls, no questions were asked, Gods way of playing games, Gods way of amusing himself, Gods selfish ways.
Standing only a few hundred yards from the site where the Guardians were conducting the ritual overseen by an Agony Mage, Rahiel could see the innocent soul being dragged from the body of a young woman to a red crystal that emanated from the ground. Rahiel flew next to the Agony Mage and materialized behind him; the Guardians stopped chanting and looked terrified up on the Agony Mage. He turned to Rahiel, Rahiel removed the wings before his eyes and spoke: God has seen your demise, God has seen your pain, God will relive you from this world trough me, God is the will and God shall be obeyed the Agony Mage responded: You might destroy me, but I know what you are, I know what you want and what you keep deep inside of you, be sure of that. Rahiels eyes filled, not with pity or resolution, but with hatred, never had he felt this feeling, never had he been so satisfied and content in his million years of existence, he raised his sword and struck down upon the Agony Mage, cleaving him in one mighty strike. Letting out a shout of anger he charged the Guardians who tried to flee before him, but all did they end up in the dust.
Rahiel moved to the crystal where the young womans soul had taken refuge, he put his hands on the shard and a feeling of resolve came flowing into his veins, his every being became stronger and filled with a passion for more, he had just absorbed the innocent soul.
Never could he return now, the Angels would hunt him down for his defiance towards God, this he knew, but he did not care anymore, he waited, for these Angels that God would send he could defeat, for he was the Dark Seraphim, he is the one to rule Earth. His only regret in this world, his only sorrow, his only pain, that haunts him every minute of every day is that he shall never look upon the glory of his Orius, his only care in this wretched time.
