Just wondering, which do you guys think is better, positional defence or typed defence? How do you rate the stalker secondaries, energy aura appeals to me but so does ninjitsu, both are for PvP to.

So any ideas, comments, suggestions post em

If you are relying on your stalker defence you are toast....
best defence is Assassin strike....and placate

None of the defences are great, I went for Ninjitsu solely for the AoE placate and confuse that you get at higher levels.

Benefit of damage typed defence is that you can manage toggles more efficiently. Positional Defence you pretty much need to run all toggles all the time (though saying that I am L19 and I only have melee defence)

I got energy aura and although it helps, the only shield I really feel I need is the entropy shield which protects against sleep and holds etc. Energy aura is an odd one for stalker, but I picked it cos it fits my character more than the rest. Kinetic shield helps sometimes when you AS a nasty boss and he hits you before you can placate as it takes some of the damage. I don't know about the effectivness of energy aura's when slotted for defense to a large amount though. All I know is if I start counting on my shields to keep me alive if a sitution goes bad...I'm probably dead anyway.

I have ninja blade/ninjitsu. I slotted my defenses with 3 Defense SO's and 1 end red SO each and i notice a BIG difference in PvP with them on and off. A lot of heroes have slotted heavily for Acc for PvP, but on the other hand a lot of them haven't. It's kinda satisfying using AS then staying to finish the job with your foe unable to land a hit

You don't anyway. I have ninjutsu's ranged and melee defenses and run them circumstantially since I can't yet provide enough end red to not have some endurance issues.

Particularly, if I'm in close combat with my targets, I turn off Dangersense. Some targets only use ranged attacks worth avoiding even at melee range.

If you have ninjato, your best defense power is Divine Avalanch, giving about a 20% def boost to lethal and melee attacks, which, with 3 def encs and overlap, can get you up to about 70% def bonus.
