Well I have Capt's alternate reality char (Captain Solaris II <<< how original ) on CoV.

He's a Energy Melee / Fire Armour Brute.

I'm quite comfortable with his primaries. But am unsure what to get and how to slot his secondaries in regards to ED.

Any information would be greatly recieved ^_^

Having seen you play i'd say slotting is pointless you die anyway

This makes way more sense for a Brute powerset than tank IMO.

The main powers i used in Beta

Blazing Aura. 2xEndRed, 1xAcc, 3xDmg. Forget Burn for a brute this is one of the best powers in the set. I used to turn this on jump in and get all the mobs attention turn it off let the fury rise then turn it back on again for crazy damage. May drop one damage for a taunt enhc to get more love from the enemy.

Fire & Plasma Shield, 1xEndRed 3xDmgRes (Playing about with ED i went 5xDmgRes and didn't notice significant difference so stop at 3)

Healing Flames, 3xrecharge, 3xheal. Nice big heal, turning up often. nuff said.

Consume, 3xRecharge I didn't bother with end recovery enhc as you can get a nice boost off 3 minions and a full bar off 4. May want to add an acc if you can spare the slot but i wasn't missing enough to be too worried.

Skip Burn with Energy primary you have more than enough damage output and the fear effect of burn means theres nothing around you to hit so less fury. Also doesn't add to fury so fairly minimal benefit.

Also might be worth considering 2/3 slots on Temperature Protection if you take that.

This worked well for me in Beta.

Cheers EK...although I resent you first remark! :P lol

Will most likely sacrifice a enhance dmg and place a taunt in Blazing Aura

I'd have a further read before taking Temperature Protection as you will already have decent resistance and the slots may well be better spent elsewhere.

I would also not put a Taunt enhancer in Blazing Aura. You are not a Tank and things will be dificult enough without attracting the additional aggro 3x End Redux and 3x Damage is the best way to go.

Given the reduction in mez protection, having Burn (instead of Temp Protection) to remove any immbolisation affect on you when a shield is down (or even for PvP purposes) could save your life.

I know I wish I had it when I jumped too close into a pack of +3 CoT (2x boss + 3x minion) and was chain held and immobed to death (with Acrobatics + all shields from DA on).

Being held is one of the risks of being either a fire tank or brute. I would still read further though before taking Temp Protection.

burn does come in very handy in tight spaces where they cant run too far, or with dumb enemies (arachnoids - mua ha ha haaa) it also helps out if you pull too many and need to leg it in a hurry. personally id say you dont need 3 end redux on BA, i survive with 1 end redux on each toggle and on my primary SMASHing powers. no stamina either, and still no downtime between mobs
