Protector Bots and Endurance Red.

I haven't played in a couple of years, so I'm wondering if this is how it used to be:

Slotting End. Red. in a Protector Bot made their powers for the Bot cheaper = it didn't run out of Endurance so fast.

Is this still the case?

Yep, it's still the case! One end reduction IO should completely solve all of it's endurance problems.

Protector bots are so tricky to slot. Almost as tricky as the Lich.

Thanks. After my free respec I didn't slot one anymore and they were going dry much too quickly

I've only recently run across this information and, while I haven't had ages of time to check into it myself, I still haven't seen my ProtBots go dry once. I'm not trying to take down AVs though. My latest bots/* toon is also only 30.

You haven't got Upgrade yet. After that, the PortBots end use will hit points where they can rapidly run dry. Photon Grenades and Seeker Drones on top of their usual shields heals, and attacks, is all together just a bit much for their recovery rate. However, a single End reduction SO will suffice.

I stongly suggest Frankenslotting, to be honest. 2 Defense IOs, 2 Acc/Dam from Det sets, and 2 Acc/Dam/End looks to be the best all around for your ProtBots.

The mixed IO's and sets are somthing I'll have the take the time to look into some. So far I've just upgraded my SO's to IO's (was the obvious thing to do at 37).

Still was expensive as hell and cleard me out even tho I got lucky and somebody was doing the crafting badges that day and randomly decided to dump a ton of IO's my way...

Frankenslotting pets is the way I've gone already, so this should be easy to do. I was following the pet slotting advice given here.

It's funny that I never noticed this problem on the last toon I was working up, a Bots/Storm (I think she was at 44 or so before altitis claimed her), but she was pretty sick anyway with all the storm powers, I may just have not been in a situation where I suffered because of it and therefore noticed it.
