Shield/Axe Question
Your attacks are the big end-suckers, not the toggles. Slot those instead.
Issue 16 made me feel like this.

Is Ax really whats killing me here?

Yeah. However, Axe is also what's killing everything else, unless you have Veteran attacks; and even then, one of THOSE is an axe. :P
So you gotta use the Axe even if it uses end. Generally attacks, over time, use much more end than toggles, so slip an end reduction in each one once you get to DOs and SOs. The other big end-sucker for low level characters is missing -- a miss uses the same end as a hit, but you have to swing again. Make sure to have accuracy slotted as well.
Lastly, the low levels are always rougher -- hang in there, you'll see improvement eventually.

Could somebody please tell me if the endurance [censored] that is this set combo worth it? My character is 14, and I just can't do ANYTHING due to lack of end. Of course I'll pick up stamina at 20, but I don't know if I can make it there.

1. Lots of AT's suck before you get Stamina.
2. Most of them suck before you get SO's or better.
3. My shield/axe tank (lvl 45) runs 7 toggles now and kicks major butt.
P.S. Even at low levels, I don't recall this guy being worse than any other tanks I've had.

My Shield/Energy tanker has had some endurance issues as well, but I don't think it's any worse than other tanks I've played. I just dinged 20 and picked up Stamina, but haven't really had a chance to test it out yet.
Honestly, I just ran the melee shield defense and was okay. I just had to sit on the 2nd toggle.
Alright, I'm working a Shield/Axe guy right now, and I have -great- news for you, Le_Blanc.
It -does- get easier. A -lot- easier. Grinding up to 20 is a bit painful, concentrate tho on taunting mobs and using the occasional axe hit to knock them up or finish off mobs. Always, -Always- run your taunt aura. That's extra damage right there.
As well, Croatoa. Get the accolade.
You don't need a complex chain for Axe. You're not a continuous damage set, but an occasional big damage set.
Stamina changes -everything- and allows you to bite off a bit more. However, you start to realize the genius of this combination once you get Shield Charge. At this point it's less about leaking end through your ST attacks, but suddenly you're an AoE beast. Your tier9 is a +recovery, Geas is a +recovery, so your end problems seem to go away.
But here's the best part. I was teaming with the supergroup, and there was another tanker herding for us. It was fun, and so I let loose with a Shield Charge, and just starting going crazy with the heavy attacks. He sends me a tell:
'Holy crap, what build Blapper are you!?! That's -crazy!-'
My reply:
'I'm a tanker, that's me taunt.'
With all the AoE knockup, and all the damage you are going to end up being -crazy- fun. So suffer through to Stamina. It's -worth it.-

Of course I'll pick up stamina at 20, but I don't know if I can make it there. I can only use the first power in Shield (even though I have the first 3 toggles) and have to leave the others off or be at 0 end after about 6 attacks??!! I have End. Red. in all the toggles, but not the Ax. Is Ax really whats killing me here??
I guess I just want to know if the set is worth it AFTER I pick up Stamina and get some IO's with big End. Red.
Thanks.
