I love my fire-therm troller. Usually the only powers that get a huge amount of play from me are fire imps, cinders, firecages and char. ones they are held i spring the melt armor and heat exhaustion. Love warmth and cauterize too and i have every power in fire except hotfeet and bonfire and all but plasma shields in therm. Its a great set. And welcome to the gameworld of mmos.
Why did you pass up plasma Shield? seems like a whole lot of resistance for your team you passed up.
Fire/Thermal can be a tough go, because you are really playing two Primaries, unlike 99.99% of the other heroes in the game.
It take a while to get the feel of when you should be controlling and when you should be buffing/healing/debuffing.
We had a big thread on this a couple of months ago with lots of builds and good advice.

Don't skip either of your single target shields. Remember, you'll want them both to buff your imps when you solo, not to mention how great they are for teammates. Also, with a little recharge, you can keep Forge up on all three imps easily.

Thank you all off this is has been helpful
I have a lvl. 39 Fire/Thermal Controller right now and I am having a difficult time getting used to trolling. Any tips about what powers are good and which aren't would be helpful. I am also new to mmo's in general, and my one lvl 50 is a Fire/Fire Blaster that blaps which I've actually gotten good with but not great.
Any help will be much appreciated.
