Just logged off the game, where on the City of Villains side of things we just went through a sudden burst of alien activity in nearly every map. Mercy Island and Port Oakes spawned at the same time, if I recall, with all the other zones with 2-5 minutes of each other.
This causes a massive problem of people running off into all the other zones, but unable to gather in large enough teams to 1) survive a wave of invaders and 2) spawn EBs needed for badging. I was in Nerva at the time, and we only had 5 people total. I moved over to Cap afterward to set up my character at the University for Day Job, and I spotted about 7 people there as they were finishing up. There were waves in Sharks, Gville, Mercy and Port Oakes still ongoing at that point.
Isn't there a way to space the landing waves so that there's no conflicting zones that would spread out the server's population and weaken our efforts to team? Any way to block other zones from spawning a Rikti Invasion while one is underway?

There probably is, but I would imagine it's set up the way it is for a reason. No idea what that reason might be, though.
