Ar/Devices: my wishes for the future
Maybe your asking for too much from the sets.
I personally enjoy the AR/Dev build, its about the only Blaster I can stand to play.
I dont think AR/ needs a accuraccy boost,it already has one vs all the other blaster power sets.Add it with Targetting Drone,do your math, its a very accurate build.
Now,if your dissapointed with damage, then simply dont continue playing that build. You seem to want what alot of people want for this build, more power that you dont need.
Lets put it this way...if you "knew" how to play this build, youd realize, that its a very easly solo friendly build, and even better on teams with tough odds.
Lets take for example AVs.This ones easy to accomplish on a team.
let the tanker take agro, walk your stealthed bad self up there.Full Auto the AV in the face, after its done and recharging, drop a Time Bomb beside it,while your setting a Time Bomb, allow your Gun Drone to unload a few shots into the AV.
After setting the time Bomb,Sniper Shot the AV in the Face,Set a Mine,Set another Mine....Boom.....Boom...(time bomb goes off about this time) KA-BOOM!
Toss down Trops if you feel the need, but its dependant if the AV will move.(they normally do)
Flamethrower whenever,Then start again...Was Rinse Repeat.
Now when your on a hard TF,and you wanna be helpful,USE YOUR CLOAKING DEVICE FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE!
You can time how you attack, and how you place Bombs, and Mines.its a great team saver on TFs that have wave of reinforcements.....note where they will apear, its not hard to figure out if you pay attention by the 1st or 2nd wave...place mines...AoE blast the Mob during Mine Recharge times, set another Mine, then another...and another...step back... and as soon as they apear, they get hit by multipul exsplosions that just rocked the entire reinforcing wave, and lets say you just feel the need to lob a Grenade when they apear and hit the mines too...
This build is definatly not nearly as weak as you feel it is.It has plenty of AoE with the AR/ part of the sets to obliterate mobs, and cuase massive damage.
Be smart, take the grenade, take buckshot, take the flame thrower, and if you dont take Full Auto...then this definatly aint the blaster for you.(not accussing, just pointing out massive failure to play the build if thats skipped)
To be totally Honest, theres not a single thing wrong with this build, other then you belive it needs more then the power it already has.
Help your self out, roll a Fire/EM Blaster, youll have more fun.
[ll i have to show for it is my fully slotted time bomb ALMOST killing a lot of even level baddies.]
This is when you drop Full Auto on the group and walk away laughing. ((Also, try the Gaussian's IO set, in your Targeting drone for that extra boost of power.))

As a longtime Rifle/Devices user I can hardly think of anything I'd want to change. Still, there are a few things...
A slightly wider area of effect for Ignite would be nice, as it's aggravating to take aim at a web-grenaded target and misjudge the range, making you look like an idiot as the un-barbecued badguy escapes while your bonfire sits there uselessly, a testament to your failed attempt to be clever.
Another minor thing that could use a tweak is Trip Mine's proximity sensor. Just now I got mauled twice by a Zues titan because the three mines I clustered in its path refused to go off even as the multi-ton death machine clomped directly over them on its way to stomping my derierre. If they had gone off and "missed" the Zues I'd be annoyed but okay with it, but these failed to detonate whatsoever. This has happened to me in the past and again it's aggravating to have your attempt to be creative fall flat due to no fault of your own.
Other than those, I don't see anything that needs drastic changes. I admit I don't have every power; I ignored Beanbag, Taser, Time Bomb and Gun Drone in favor of pool powers (though I think I'll make an alternate build to try them out) so I can't say anything on those powers, but all in all I think AR/Dev makes up for any weaknesses with powers that combine well and lend themselves to unique tactics.

now i am sure people have mentioned this before, but i think Ar and Devices needs to get tweaked quite a bit to balence out.
i have had an Ar/devices blaster for a few years now, and i have spoken to other devices blasters about this (i couldnt talk to any Ar blasters because i couldnt find any).
First, i think Ar needs a major accuracy boost. My only reason for this is the lack of an aim. Now targeting drone does a good job of boosting my ammount of times i hit, but lets face it, that little drone is no aim+build up.
second, i know ignite was an insane av killer (when on a team who has all the aggro and a controller to lock them down). however, even before its rechardge, i never thought it was overpowered due to its limited area size and the fact that the only good ways to use it are to either immob the target first and melt them down, or to keep the baddies out of melee by setting yourself on fire. all i am going to say is i want a larger burn area.
Finally, i will bring up time bomb as it is my only grievance with the set. The damage is slightly lower than a blaster nova so it would seem pretty good, but i know almost every blaster uses bu+aim before every nuke. Time bomb is not effected by aim anyway. All i would ask for is a damage boost, a kinda big one. it takes 8 seconds to set, 15 seconds to go off, and in the end, all i have to show for it is my fully slotted time bomb ALMOST killing a lot of even level baddies.
Maybe i am just doing something wrong with my blaster after about 3 years playing him, but these seem like good and pretty easy (mind you i have no idea what effort these changes would require).
i welcome comments and criticisms.
