Yes it is common; you need to zone to refresh the progress on the badge window.

Ah. Got it. Thanks. I didn't realize I really earned it - I thought I just got the announcement too early. Now I have to go back and move them to their new spot.
Yeah I'd say the "Day Job badge progress bar not updating when I log in" bug happens to me roughly once in every 10 logins. It's vaguely annoying but it's not too big of a deal once you understand what's going on.

I logged in a character today, redside, and received the message I had earned the Fashion Designer badge. But there is still a progress bar showing I have only 97% completed, and it is not listed in my most recents. No biggie I think.
Then I log in another character redside and get a message I earned the Professor badge and the Master Architect badge. Again the progress bar for Professor is only 89% complete. Has this been an ongong issue?
