ig4dev.dll error
Intel graphics driver issue. Downloading the latest driver from your motherboard/laptop manufacturer is recommended, although, depending on the graphics solution, it may not be compatible.
Please look at 'Read This' below, and post up the Helper log, which should help us pinpoint the issue, maybe. It would also be recommended to post up the Hijack This log as well.

Ty for the help. I'll post if it works, company laptop is pretty locked down so I'll have to call in a few favours.
Btw, thinkin' about my post up there... the "it may not be compatible" bit is about the graphics solution not being compatible with Co*. Certain Intels won't do it.

Thanks, Transpires my Lenovo R61i is using proprietary Lenovo drivers which are no longer supported. Furthermore because its Lenovo home-brew I can't use an Intel driver even though its compatible with my chip-set.
I will never buy a Lenovo again. Bag of [censored].
Don't blame Lenovo, per se, Sony is exactly the same. As is Dell. And Gateway. Hp, Compaq, Toshiba, Acer...
In other words, if it's a *laptop*, they're all doing that.
Reason is they ubertweak the drivers for power balancing and a few other reasons in their particular system. Each one 'makes it their own'. Even in a mini system that is similarly built to a laptop, you may find this.
Basically, the rule is this: If you are even *thinking* about any 3D gaming on a laptop... buy it with a dedicated graphics solution, and do use the 'over 6' rule... i.e. the ones with a 6 in them or better (9600, 260, 4800) are going to be the ones to go with over the less than 6 (4300, 9100)
I know it's after the fact, but there it is.

Hello,
Can anyone help? When launching the game it constantly crashes while loading, I have only installed the game (purchased from the NC store) and patched but not been able to play.
I have also downloaded a further patch found here; ftp://client.coh.com/US/CoH_NA_Setup.exe
I keep getting the same "ig4dev.dll" file referenced. Please help.
Please keep it simple. I am mightily stupid.
