Animation question

Mind Forever Burning

In a mission I'm working on, I have the players rescue a tortured captive and escort them to the door. When they get to the door, the captive is so thankful that they collapse with exhaustion, but the mission isn't over, because the captors really want their captive back, so they ambush you. Unfortunately, the ambush causes the supposedly unconscious captive to spring back to his feet, even though he won't fight.

In these circumstances, is there any way to keep the rescued captive from jumping back up? I have already resigned myself to the fact that I can't make him stumble slowly behind you like he should on the way out, but it looks kind of silly for him to say, "Oh, th-thank you so muuuuch..." and pass out, only to jump right back up and be fully alert when the ambushers come running down the hall.

I think the ambush may be a red herring, and that the captive will spring back to his feet when the animation is done playing regardless. That's just how animations work; once they're done playing, there's no way to tell the game to leave the stance alone.

And for a while things were cold,
They were scared down in their holes
The forest that once was green
Was colored black by those killing machines

Hmmmm, I hadn't thought of that. I guess I can try changing it to the "stunned" animation instead and see if that helps.
