Monday night Task Forces

Hi, I just recently started playing CoH and the Posi TF will be the first TF that i've ever run.

I've got an eng/eng blaster that I'll be bringing out. Seeing as this will be my first TF is there anything I should consider before attempting one? I know that they're generally long (I've heard around 4-5 hours for posi) but is there anything else I should be prepared for?

Neustar, what level is your toon? Also, do you have a microhpne? About 4 of use on doing this TF will be on ventrillo and we can talk you through the steps if need be.

Well I rolled a Fire/Mental Blaster and he is now at level 13:
Hot - Shots

I'm already getting him IOs to add in set bonuses...

Dang flu you are way more hardcore than I have ever been .

I have my lvl 10 scrapper Age ready for this, thought I would
settle with kat/inv (2 sets I've never played)

Hopefully the internet gods will be kind and I can get online soon...

Also, the IOs are one of my favorite parts of the game. I never thought you could really start IO'ing at level 13. I had already slotted some common IOs and then went to the market to buy some damage ones. Then I happen to glance over at the lvl 13-16 recipies and BAMM! I was hit with the IO'ing fever!

You don't want that one. I had the HTC Touch for 3 days before I threw it back at Best Buy for being a craptastic phone.

The later iterations from HTC are a considerable improvement, but when it takes me 20 minutes to use their ghetto voice dial to make a call? It's not a phone, it's an internet portal that occasionally can make calls.

And I do agree, the pre-installed voice program is pretty crappy - I purchased MS Voice Command - a marked improvement.

Also by today's standards, my phone is old...I do tend to use my phones until they are barely functional...

What I really like is the multi-functionality I get out of it:

Phone
MP3/Media Player
GPS (Sprint Navigation is pretty good - at least compared to my brother-in-laws garvin gps)
Laptop Modem
Camera / tag reader
Pocket Office w/Outlook
Expandable Memory

It does a nice job for me - I'm sure there are better (Samsung Omnia would be my phone of choice were I purchasing today), but I am happy with it & expect to be using it for a few more years...

Most phones use VoiceSignal, which has been around for a while, and does a terrific job; I don't know why the iPhone, the Palm Pre (the one I'm looking at, and am waiting to get voicedial before I buy cuz I REALLY like it), etc just didn't come with it pre-installed, and that fact drives me bonkers.

Completely untrue actually. I like touchscreen designs. But, when I can't blind-dial by touch while driving, I HAVE to have voice dialing that works. I've noticed that a bunch of the smart phones (at least the ones I checked) do not come with that type of voice dialing program (not sure why either) - hence the reason I purchased MS Voice Command.

Drives me bat-guano insane. See, Blackberries have 'em, and I'd call them smartphone-competitive. (I have the Verizon BB Worldphone as my work phone.)

IMO, it's a micro-transaction scheme they're working on us, make us nickel-and-dime for all the features we used to assume were standard for a phone. ;(
