Fire/Fire Scrapper?
I'm kind of the opposite with my 50s. I love playing my IO'd (previously HO'd) 50s because they're finally DONE! I think I've spent about half of my play time on my 50s, half below that level on them and on alts.
Temperature protection does look a little underwhelming since you'll be near the fire resistance cap anyway, and the cold resistance isn't very high. Still, it's an autopower, so it's free. I'd fit it in if I could.

Yes, but is Assault better than TempProt? Why?
And which, after the level 20 respec, should I have, Scorch or Fire Sword, to go with Cremate and Fire Sword Circle, and why?

At least solo, Assault is pretty low damage for the endurance. It'll add up on a team, of course. Better than Temperature Protection? On a team, probably hopefully others on the team are helping keep you alive, and you're helping them and yourself dish out damage. Solo, I'd go with Temperature Protection. Probably. It's really one of those it depends questions.
I'd focus primarily on your damage output on a low level scrapper. By 20, I think I'd want to be chaining (with gaps) Cremate -> Scorch -> Fire Sword -> Scorch. And I'd want to have Fire Sword Circle on a team build. So it seems like my answer to your question on which attacks to take is all of the ones you mentioned.
If you MUST choose between Scorch and Fire Sword, I'd go with Scorch for the faster recharge and the better damage per endurance, both of which matter a lot on a low level toon. The better DPS of Fire Sword isn't going to mean much when you're chaining with gaps and are severely endurance limited.

True - but I hope that I am going to have more End than I can possibly use with Stamina on top of Consume. And after all, don't we ALL chase those extra tiny bits of damage through seeking IOs?

That's what I need to know - does Cremate -> Fire Sword -> Fire Sword Circle NOT chain well? Does it have gaps? If that's the case, I may have to go with Cremate. I will re-examine my build progression to see if it is at all possible to keep both. Ultimately, by level 40 or so, I would have both - let me see if I can shuffle that around with putting off more important stuff.

Don't assume Consume will be up nearly enough for you to think it'll actually help your end woes. I got enough +recovery and end redux built into my Fire/Fire where I just dropped Consume altogether and am much, much happier for it.
I never needed Fire Sword leveling to Incinerate. Blazing Aura on, (BU +) FSC, then Scorch-Cremate-Scorch, and sure there's a gap, but most things are dead at that point (or you can do Scorch-Cremate-Scorch-FSC-Scorch-Cremate-Scorch, and really, nothing should be left at this point). FS *is* a better attack than Scorch, but I found I could better use the slot for other things. Note, FS-Cremate-FS will leave a gap before the 2nd FS which is why I'd recommend Scorch over FS.

I'd take Combat Jumping or even the forth "Fitness" pick over Temp Protection..
perma jump is ---> /up 1
Temp protection has a res to slow/-rech on it now. It is also good to slot the KB protection IO there so you can use a slot that would have added to a fire shield or def power for something of use. And as a /fire scrapper, I would already have CJ around lvl 8 so it wouldn't be a take one or the other issue. As for taking it over the last power in the fitness pool (figuring you already have 3), the res to -rech seems more important to me then jumping a little higher or running a little faster.

I'm not sure you'll have more endurance than you can possibly use I somehow always find a way to use mine. But Assault is part of how I use mine up on my Katana/Regen, so yes, Assault can be part of chasing that little bit of extra damage we all want.
You won't be using Fire Sword Circle as part of a chain because it has a base recharge of 20 seconds. It's your alpha strike.
So at a low level, you pretty much need the fast recharging attacks, which are Scorch, Fire Sword and Cremate. Though you might be able to skip one with all the veteran attacks you have available. You'll eventually want Incinerate and possibly Greater Fire Sword. And when you get a lot of recharge, you'll probably want to spec into a tighter attack chain with fewer attacks.
If the question is what to skip to make room for another attack, delay Super Speed. It is easily replaced by the temp travel powers. I'd rather be killing faster than running faster.

The next question: I have been hearing that Temperature Protection is very underwhelming - what do you guys think?
Would a different power choice be more useful? Combat Jumping? Or should I take it after all, just not until like 30? Would maybe Assault be more useful than TempProt - after all it gives me (and my team) more damage (10%?), and with both Stam and Consume, I can probably afford the end even with Blazing Aura.
Also, I am considering that once I get to 20 and have Cremate and Fire Sword Circle that instead of vet respeccing and dropping Fire Sword, I should drop Scorch - because at the higher level I have more attacks, and with Hasten and some Enh's in Cremate, FSC, and FS I should be able to make a chain out fo those alone (plus I can still phase in Sand of Mu and Nemmy Staff Vet powers, if needed.) My next attack would be at 26, so that's 6 levels to use either Cremate, FSC, and FS; or Cremate, FSC, and Scorch - which would be better?
