How does auto SK work?

Sorry if this is covered somewhere else. But I couldn't find it so please bear with me.

Can someone briefly explain how the Auto SK thing works for AE missions? When you create a mission, do you have to do anything special to make sure your mission auto SKs?

I published one that apparently did not auto SK and I'd like to fix that.

Anyone entering the mission will automagically be bumped up to the lowest possible level.

If your mission is set for levels 1-50, then there will be no auto SK... but if you're set for 40-50, then anyone below 40 will be bumped up to that threshold.

Add an allied npc that only has one level. Since he's on your team, you all become his level minimum. To get enemies stuck at level 54 and have everyone auto-sk to 50 (the maximum player level), you need an ally that is 54-54. Such an ally can be a rescue or escort objective.

I think I'm missing something. I added a Captive AND an Ally. But my friend who is 41 still was not auto SKed.

Anyone have any suggestions? It would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
