You may need to drop your difficulty - on the lowest difficulty (Heroic), the AVs will spawn as Elite Bosses instead, which you can probably handle.
You might be able to take them down as full on AVs, especially with Shivans, though it's more dangerous and you're more likely to get flattened. I'd get a team if you want to fight them as AVs.
Illusion Controllers get Phantom Army to keep the AVs from pounding them - your imps aren't going to be much of a roadblock. Oh, and we call them "missions" in this game, not quests.

Fire/Kin can solo them okay. If you have your epic shield and can keep them at range you should be able to damage sap them enough between Siphon Powers and FS's that transfusion can cover the healing gap.
I haven't tried it since the pet recharge nerf but damage and SB boosted imps could put out serious DPS. A soft capped range build would have it easier but I was able to walk up to a good many on my average farm build and take them out with some time and effort. With a shivan it should be pretty easy.

Actually everything except invincible will spawn EBs when solo.
Difficulty: Team Members Required to Spawn AVs (otherwise EBs will spawn, TFs excluded)
Invincible: 1
Unyielding: 3
Rugged: 4
Tenacious: 5
Heroic: 6

Not to sound like a noob, but Im sure I will.. I just reached 44 with my fire/kin controller... this is my highest level toon and Im starting to get AV missions in PI... Can I solo them or should I just try and find a team? Ive pretty much solo'd from start to where I am now.. Thanks alot for the help, and please be gentle... lol
